• 8.5US = 42€
• 8US = 41€

I still don't buy that. I have NEVER been 43Euro in finnish or european made shoes/Boots. Always 42.

It doesn't matter - it's just a chart they use… If their 8.5s equal a Euro 42, that's what I need...

This is different than buying massproduced shoes... These are handmade from scratch...

Ok the Red Wing boat shoes arrived and they fit slightly big… I know I really want the Navy Oxford's.  How much to get them in or to the UK?  I'm a 10 in Tricker's, Grenson and Red Wing Moc Toe.  Would 10's be the right size on the Oak st?

but - I have yet to see them on someone´s feet other than the website to really judge the fit. the website pics blow my mind, ankle freeze steeze, but most "regular" fit pics make them look , hmm, smallish or how do I put it, ordinary…

I get what you're saying.  The pics I've seen don't live up to the website pics but I guess that's often the case.  All the things you mentioned though mean I really like them.

saw them in the flesh couple of days back - a friend sells them from his shop

all the stuff in the website pics are more or less true to form, but there is a finese to the workmanship which detracts slightly to the feel

sounds a contradiction, i know, but my earliest impressions were of something more rugged and perhaps chunkier . . . they seem less like that, and a little more dressy to my eye now

all that said - they are very well made, still a lovely shoe and made from a top quality leather - well worth the investment

Brown Hunt Boot - inward bound

George mentioned a bit back that we should expect new stuff from them in about another month from now.  Not sure if they'll put it out on the newsletter, but I signed up.

So, I have been chatting with Geoge at Oak Street on and off for while now.  For those of you who know me, I have wide feet with a high instep.  I asked George to make me a pair in 10E, but he suggested I tried a pair on in 10D, so he shipped them to me.  Arrived today.  And as per Georges suggestion, they did fit, and bloody hell they are supremely comfortable out of the box.

Overall impression is of a very very nicely made boot, detailing is great and the Horween Chromexcel leather is stunning (but then again, I am partial to a good bit of Horween).

My only gripe, and this is very personal, is that I prefer a real heel on my shoes and boots (but heck, I can't see that from up here anyway).
