      Thanks for the help boys…....

What did you expect?! And, you're welcome!

I wonder if that $100 fitting goes toward the price of a boot if you buy. I would hope so anyway

Usually not.  The lasting fee is to cover the cost of the last itself and labor for the fitting.  However, from that point onward, you have your own personal last, not just an off-the-shelf stock sized last.

When I got a pair of cowboy boots custom made a couple of years ago, the lasting fee was $150, so Wesco's charge is actually pretty reasonable.

Really liking both of those jobmasters  (congrats!)- will be watching for some seconds myself.  I think the wait for a custom build now, per Baker's, is ~12-14 weeks.

                            no sir
as chris said they actually keep your last on file forever and anytime you order a pair they just bust it out and make it off your measurements
i remember seeing a video about it
not sure if it was on this thread or on their site

Yeah, for people with normal feet, which is most of us, a custom last isn't necessary.  Probably about 90% of people can find a really good fit with a standard sized last.  That said, many of the best cowboy boot makers don't do stock sizing; they all custom make the lasts for each customer and store them for future orders.

One of my favorite makers, Lee Miller in Austin, hangs his from the ceiling of his shop, which is just really cool looking:

I'm hoping that I don't need a custom last but I am a large 13 . Meaning in converse I wear 13 vans 13-14 depending and 12.5 in viberg. And I'm not sure how a wesco's fits so I wanna try some on and get measured up. If I have to drop the 100 so be it. If not cool

I had a great experience with Wesco's custom fit. I've bought two pairs so far and hope to get another next year if I have the funds. I have a kind of narrow foot so sizing has always been an issue for me.

In the past the offer was if you purchase a custom order with Wesco at the show, your custom fitting is free of charge. I don't know if this is current but I hope so!

So you been at his shop? Me too. I ordered a pair 3 years ago and it is not yet ready… Cool still! I loved checking out the lasts. And he and his wife Carrlyn are super cool people.
