Thanks @madmonday and @neph93 - Im excited about them to say the least. I  have been wanting a tan pecos style boot for ages, so these fit the bill nicely.

Now I gotta run and get some insoles and weather proofer haha

            And…........

            Copped 🙂

Since my wife was beyond generous and purchased my Road Champs for me for Easter, I finally saw the light when it comes to well made boots.

I'll post pics once they arrive!

Congrats! … The Bootery for the win  🙂

Top notch construction - super heavy. Just what I would expect!

Foot fits nice and snug, but have some major heel slip.. Maybe I'm an E midfoot and a D heel… Anyways, I'll probably get an insole for them once they break in a bit!

@Appfaff  Those look great!  How do they feel length-wise?  I imagine heel-slip will subside over time, as things loosen up and the sole becomes more pliable.

@Engineer - the length and feel around the arch and toes is 100% perfect. Snug with just enough room to accommodate some stretch.  I'm sure the heel will tighten up as the heel cup molds to me foot.  Really beautiful boots. Glad I was able to snag these!

The heel slip will subside with time.  You can try heating the heel cup with a hair dryer and squeezing it. It will deform with heat…..

Thanks for the heads up @Giles - ive worn them all morning and it's already a lot better. I'm sure forcing the midsole to conform is going to be a task in itself haha

I've already gotten quite a few compliments from clients this morning on them. One of my 75 year old clients said "You look quite hipster today in your buck skin boots" haha

The heel slip will subside, but you'll also get used to what little remains. It's a natural feature of engineer boots; one that I've grown to find rather charming.

Thanks @seawolf !  On day 2 of wearing them and already notice it has gotten less "aggressive." Didn't have much heel slip in my Road Champs, but I'm guessing the instep straps does help a little..

I like the look of the brown oil tanned rough out much better than the Domain…looks more substantial and better color.

Really diggin the shape and feel of these Morrisons. They are a beast to break in but are getting better everyday.

What's the consensus on treating the burlap smooth out leather?  Thinking of maybe trying to darken the color just a tad, and I'm guessing since the leather has not be tanned, it could stand to be weather proofed a bit…

I've seen a lot of pic online of aged smooth burlap and they seem to just darken nicely with wear.
