man i have a pair of wesco engineer boots that i've tried to wear in public a couple of times now (probably about five) and they hurt SO FN BAD in the middle of my feet (flat footed, they are also tight). how did you guys break through it???

Is there an insole? If so, you can take it out for the break-in period. Pete at Wesco suggested this when I was breaking in my Wesco Boss boots and it was helpful. Once the leather starts softening up, you can add the insole back.

@bubbapest email Wesco and they might be able to help you out. I sent my MP Bosses back to have the toes stretched and they also softened up some of the stitching which was hurting my foot on the vamp. They are really helpful to deal with.

                  i deserved that

the pain was actually bearable this time, but i think its more of a factor of just beating the midsole to conform to my flat ol feet.  in the middle part of my foot, its raised and its just like daggers to my feet

I was mainly kidding @bubbapest , but after years on SuFu and other forums it's amazing the amount of dudes who don't buy the right size and still complain about the fit  😛

Glad to hear that was helpful. After you get them a little more broken in, you should be able to add the insole back without any issues. Those boots are tough at first, but they'll soften up in no time.

I will find out about the MP and JH.

What I do know, is that because Wesco have taste, they do not use the white CrapChristy.  😃 😃

                            But

They do use the 1010 Armortred, which IMO is just about as bad…...

They do do a Christy (#4014) in black

And yes, we can do a JH on an MP with either sole option…

Aesthetics aside I think that general opinion (i.e what I've read on the interwebz) is that the Armortred soles are much more hard wearing that the glorified sponge which is the Christy.

Seems like some of the Japanese bikers like the boss boot with 4014 and Armortred soles - seen a lot of pics and in many of them the soles are really worn down (perhaps because they've been worn hard, or they drag their feet some while riding which i do as well).  it is an "interesting" look. at first I really hated it and lately it is growing on me some.

                                    this is the 4014.

G - I read somewhere that the packer with MP toe (flightmaster) runs a 1/2 size small vs. boss or job master (in other words you should size up 1/2 on the flightmaster vs. your size in a boss/jobmaster) - do you find that to be true based on your experience?
