@xtcclassic  Really love your PRS Vela…such a cool design!  I’ll bet it plays like butter.

I have been enjoying this thread and all the great guitars/gear for a long time. I’ve been physically laid up for a bit and couldn’t really hold a guitar for a while, much less play one. I’ve finally gotten to the point I can play again, thankfully, and thought it was past time to post some guitar pics! I thought I’d post some acoustics first because they don’t seem to get as much love as the electrics. This is my 1947 Martin 00-18, all original. It’s warm and woody, the perfect couch guitar for me.  I’ll try to get some pics of electrics soon.

Beautiful acoustic! Is that a parlor or shorter scale one? It looks like a perfect size to play and travel with. Also shoutout to Martins because they’re made in PA!

Thanks!  It is short-scale (24.9) and considered “grand concert” size.  It has great volume and handles about everything well. It had a neck reset years ago but the action has stayed low and it’s a joy to play.

Also, I’m a big fan of old Martins…they are tough to beat!

A well loved guitar usually plays just as well! I should take some photos of my collection sometime. Got some goodies to show off

@Fadez  definitely post some pics of your collection!  I’ll get some more pics up soon as well.

Also, I love old guitars with patina…just like I love a pair of well-worn IH jeans. Patina=Love in my book 😁

@Fadez it’s a Vigier Excalibur Supra, alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, dimarzio pickups. Small boutique company in France. Interesting thing is that it doesn’t have a truss rod, instead they have a strip of carbon through the neck. I’ve never had a setup and the intonation and action is still spot on

I’m sticking with the acoustics for this next one. This is my 1971 Martin D-18, almost nothing original [emoji23]. I had always wanted a prewar Martin D-18. Could not afford a prewar Martin D-18. Wife would divorce me if I bought a prewar Martin D-18. So, I bought a beat up 1971 (birth year) D-18 on eBay and sent it to a luthier who specializes in rehabbing old Martins. Lots of 70’s Martins have problems with intonation because they made so many during the folk boom that Martin got sloppy with the placement of the bridges. This one was no different and it needed lots of other work:

                                  Replaced bridge and corrected position
New saddle with 2 1/4 string spacing
                                  New bridge plate
                                  Neck reset
                                  New frets
Re-glued binding in a few spots
                                  2 repaired cracks
                                  Lightly scalloped the braces
                                  New Waverly tuners
                                  K&K Western Mini pickup
                                  Replaced pick guard

It was a fun guitar adventure and I ended up really loving this “Frankenstein” dreadnaught.
The slight scalloping really helped the trebles.

@Pufton Very cool guitar!  Looks a lot like a butterscotch blonde tele now (except for the pickguard).  Really beautiful

It doesn’t get much use these days.
I bought this as a player.

                                        It’s a 2013 MIM.
Always loved the sound of the tremolo on the Stratocaster.

@Pufton nice dude, a ‘scotch tele has always been a desire for me, always liked the look of the suhr classic t. Unfortunately these days playing’s more of a hobby so have never had the justification to buy more guitars. Sold my mesa mkivs and rack a few years ago, think I’ll always regret that shit!
