what the laces?  I just got some laces at the local cobbler.  They are thicker in diameter.  The stock laces are really thin.  Feels like your foot is being choked out gangland style by a piano wire.

Whites leather laces however are the best leather laces I have ever used.  get a small glob of obenaufs and lather the laces up and they are good to go.

The SD laces are much stronger than their size dictates, plus personally I think that they suit the build.

i like leather laces on my Oxfords, not so on my SD's, I am afraid. They are simply too loud, I think.
I will try my luck at a few local makers again to find the right pair of laces.

My White's SD, owning about 4 years, wear unknown, haven't kept track they're in my everyday boot rotation.

What I really like about these is that the block heel is flush with the boot, whereas so often the White's block overhangs so far off the back…  Was this a special request?  Just luck?  A different sole than original?

It's what I'd like on the pair I am ordering soon...

Got my tracking from UPS through Bakers today…now it´s getting close receiving my White's SD.

The wait was all good in the beginning but after a while I kinda looked looked at my email a little more than normal...

^^I ordered them on december 19th but my payment did not go through right away. Kyle sent me an email and it got sorted through PayPal on the 24th december or so.

So I´ve been waiting since then. But I realize it was the holidays when I ordered so I understand the wait.

Nah it´s been more like 9 weeks. But the wait is soon over! 

Kyle told me White's had alot of backorders so they were very busy. I´m cool with that and Kyle has been superior all the way, answering my ?´s and concerns.

These were resoled by a cobbler in NY, so indeed a completey different sole from the one White's uses.

Does anybody have any experience in either the White's Cougar(northwest last) and White's Smoke Jumper(semi-dress last) on either the Vibram 2021/4014 sole?

I'm specifically interested in the arch support provided by the northwest last and/or Smoke Jumper(BH) with a Vibram 2021/4014 sole. Also, how the arch support fares with a wedge sole as opposed to the same last but with a cuban heel.

I currently have a Bounty Hunter, so Smoke Jumper w/ semi-dress last, but with a Vibram half composition sole. I love the arch support the boots provide and am interested in picking up another pair, only with a vibram 2021/4014 sole.
