i´m looking for a pair of white´s to be my next boots…hopefully i can force myself to stop copping other unnecessary bs and save the $ for these!...  :-\

That becomes the challenge! I strongly urge you to make White's your priority though. They're quite special.

me neither, but if you want to look at all options, a no-rubber version is also to be considered. That will only look good in proportion, if you order at least a double leather sole. as long as we are talking about lace-to-toe anyhow, as the regular cut looks a lot less beefy.

Btw. I have seen Vibram Montagna or Kletterlift on a pair of White's a while ago, which seemed like a good alternative to the 100.

I like the idea of a leather sole but I have a couple of other boots with them and they're too treacherous on the wet pavements here for me. I think it will be the 700 or the 430. I need to find my damn tape measure first of all though.

                      LOL that sounds pretty primitive…

I don't mind - means I get to use the Build-a-Boot site which has already occupied hours of my time 🙂

It's a long way from perfect for sure. I find I have to look at pictures from the web at the same time as some of the images in the tool look nothing like the real thing.

They can't have you scan & email the foot tracings?  That's what Viberg does with customers that are unsure of the correct sizing.

No, apparently not. The only other option was fax.

Unharmed - I discussed doing the fax thing but in the end laborious conversations about other boot fits sufficed. I did do measurements and then emailed them too (using a foot tracing on paper).

What we really need a laser modelling system that then emails the dimensions to them. Let me just fire up the RepRap….(I wish).

Huh, that does sounds a bit… 20th century.  Guess you get old school logistics to go with your old school boot construction.

EDIT: hectic, I actually knew a last maker that was working on a system like that.  You plugged in your various measurements into his website, picked a last style, (e.g., Munson last) and then the program modeled a custom last in 3D and CNC'd it for you.  I'll have to see if I can find that website again.

I mailed my tracings to baker's to get fitted:)

i still think they need to get those foam foot bed molds that Becks Boots uses.  No f*cking around with a spouse to get her to hold the pen totally vertical, just step in the mold and send it off!
