Not my cup of tea personally, only as they totally would not suit me.

Landed. Initial observations:
Much heftier than I expected. These are essentially low top boots. While the workmanship is on par or exceeds Red Wing, they do not have the same level of detail that my White's Bounty Hunters do.
The soles are stiff! Mega, the soles loosen up right?
I didnt really need to break in my Whites, most likely because they were CXL. I had to get used to the sole and arch though. These need break in. I cant tie them as snug as I would like because of this.
crap office iPhone pic. Ill post up better pics soon -
Those are siccc.
I'd say the Hathorn line is a half step under the White's line but 3 steps above Red Wing.
-
Looking good SG, I have to say that your observations are pretty much the opposite of mine though. Mine fit, and were as comfy as sneakers from the get go, and I never really found the soles to be stiff at all.
Persevere though man, they are certainly worth it.
-
By break in, I mean the area around my ankles just need to get used to the rub and the leather needs to loosen up a bit. They are literally 35 minutes old at this point. Did you find the sole to flex better as time went on? I assume this will be the case, but im a paranoid bastard, and want to be 1000% sure on the fit before I go tromping around outside….
-
Honestly, I never had a second of trouble flexing the sole at all. I've worn Jordans with stiffer soles.
-
hmm, its not like a wooden plank or anything, but mine are pretty stiff out of the box. Im really impressed with the rough out. Its fantastic.
