"So… I know you started work at 6:30, but how about working 'til 16:30?"
Later that day...
"Would you come into work on Thursday?... I know it's one of your holidays but I'm really struggling..."
(Slap bang in the middle of three days off...).
I ****ing love my job some days!!
Icing on the cake? This years staff bonus isn't happening. The response from our wonderful store manager edited highlights:
Apologises for the length of this rant, but it's really getting me down at the moment…*wanders off in search of beer and #DoctorWhisky

Slight passive-aggressive action in that "communiqué"… Really rubs me the wrong way...
I just volunteered to come into work on my day off (Thursday) btw… Due to the hot weather, I have a much bigger delivery of stuff coming in on Friday and not the time to do it... Rather split it between two days than do it on one... Fucking sucks cause my boss knows this but refuses to add someone on Friday... In his defence: the only guy who could've been added quits May 31st :-\

"…and hopefully be rewarded with a better bonus next year"? Wouldn't that require them to give you a bonus this year?
That truly sucks, dude. Terrible memo that makes me pissed and I don't even work there. Sorry.:(
-
I'd bet you the wanker will be getting a fat bonus for himself though…

I know you're tired and ready to be home, but there are worse places to be stuck. Though I suppose if all you're doing is camping out in the airport, where you are is irrelevant.

Definitely true, and I am thankful to be stuck at O'hare instead of Midway as well.
That being said holing up in the airport overnight is never all that pleasant

Someone just sent me an email and asked what would my best price be of a pair of IH-9634Z to a first time buyer. My reply was USD350 (i.e. list). He just came back and said "I was thinking more like USD300". I told him to think what he liked…..
Hahahahaha, I had no idea you had a stand at the Rose Bowl G?

Awesome! I didn't know prices were negotiable; that's great news! You'll be receiving an email soon with my revised offers for various items. I look forward to at least a 10% break, since I'm a repeat

I've always been a proponent that you give discounts to loyal customers, not new ones. Sadly, most companies do just the opposite these days.

Agreed. Text from last email I sent him…
- Someone who negotiates as a first time buyer is usually only a one time buyer
- If they do return a precedent has been set
- First time buyers are the most costly in terms of returns etc
- Why would we favour a completely new customer over our 1'000's of repeat customers?

"The cover of this magazine I want is ripped, could you knock £1.00 off the price?"
No, but I'll wait patiently while you fetch another… etc etc.
