When I was in investigations and we had new people that needed boots for inspecting food manufacturers, I always gave a simple answer they wouldn't believe: go to an Army/Navy surplus store and buy a pair of "jungle boots". $20, and I believe some of them are still using those boots six years later.

Food manufacturing plants is one of the craziest environments I can think of. They can be wet, dusty, hot, cold, slippery, and riddled with sharp objects on the floor, all in the same plant

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

I thought I may be the only one that felt that way about Alden. Can't believe the response they gave you, G. Maybe ill try to swing a pair of the rough out IH Vibergs this summer if the Danners dont end up working out. Im not ready to give up on them just yet.

Thought about White's? I have had good luck with my Alden's, but maybe I'll keep them for shorter walks to preserve them.

Well, Danner ended up doing alright. They rushed my boots through the shop and instead of a 6 week wait, it took 2 days. It looks like they even refunded my payment. On top of that, they're shipping them quick so I should have them for a hike this weekend. Hard to rant about that.

My wife backed into my car with her monster Sequoia. The MINI has 2 small dents and a broken headlight.  Estimate is over $2000. Since it was both out cars we get to enjoy both deductibles.
                      Ugh.

I bought an IHSH-80 from a forum member. Received the shirt and noticed a tear inside the collar. Have been trying to get the situation resolved, but he has stopped responding to my messages. Beyond frustrated…

Definitely sucks. This fabric is thin, and these things happen. I caught my upper arm on a fence and put a small tear in my red 80, near the shoulder. Nothing a little thread couldn't fix, though.

I understand your frustration, and the seller should have alerted you beforehand and paid for the repair; but it's a quick fix, and remember this is work wear. Tears just add character. You will still love the shirt. Trust me.

So first weekend off in over two months, and I decide to go to the beach.

I moved to a different area for the rest of the year, so I've never even been to this beach before. In my first 60 seconds at the new beach, I step on a stingray. Blood, swelling, searing pain. I had to walk about 2 miles home to get to some hot water to soak my foot.

Never thought I would say this, but I should have just gone to work today. Haha.

                                    Thanks, man.

That was a real tragedy with Steve Irwin. He was in so many more dangerous situations, and always walked away unscathed. Stingray stings are painful, but fatalities are extremely rare and usually occur if you're stung in the chest (had no choice but to do some reading on the subject today).

"seano 'harder than Steve Irwin' cono" :). I had a mate get stung a few years ago, caused him weeks of pain. Seem to recall he walked it off (similar), but had issues with it 2-3 weeks later. He ended up visiting a GP and getting 'stuff' done.

I hope you're feeling okay, Sean!

Thank you! I am feeling good. Foot/leg is swollen and red, but the pain is mostly gone.

I made a quick stop at the doctor's because I have some previous health issues that I wanted to make sure didn't come into play. They gave me some antibiotics, so hopefully I can avoid an infection. Draining sounds terrible.
