Well I think I am going to have to return these after all.
Something about the waist is just tighter than any other IH pants that I have.
Bummer, I but hope someone else will enjoy them.
          😞

I got my hands on both the khaki and the navy versions of these today. They are fantastic. The material is comfortable and looks very sharp. They are being washed now to see if they shrink at all before I have them hemmed. I'm very impressed and happy I was able to snag both in a 36. The only thing I would change… The buttons. I really like the back pocket snap on the 707 and the beefier button they have up front as well. Other than that, they are perfect as far as I'm concerned.

Update: the navy pair has been washed and dried. Despite being one-washed, they shrank 0.5 inch in the waist and 1.4 inches in the inseam. Some of the original sheen is gone. They look and feel great.

@DrBabyhorse Damn, did you hot wash them and put them in the dryer? I got blue ones today as well. They are already hemmed so if I get shrinkage like that I'm screwed.

I hot washed them and put them in the dryer for about 45 minutes with the purpose of getting any shrinkage out of them. The khakis shrank more than the navy. About 1.7 inches in the inseam.

Good info. Thanks for the reply. I will make sure to wash in cold and hang dry to try and minimize the inseam shrinking. I really like these pants so I would hate to mess them up. Thanks again!

These trousers are the bomb - such a killer cut and sexy fabric. I would like another pair but too much navy already in the wardrobe. More colours please…!

We will have more (of the same colours I am afraid @zatenm ) available in November…...The next production run is being made by a different work shop, so we may get some variation in size from the previous run, which may help you @Broark

Thanks for the tip @Giles, it was really a shame because I loved the way the whole pant fit aside from the tight waist.
I'll keep my eye out for the next production run in a few months time.

@Giles In the next run, is it possible to replace the buttons with the metallic ones seen in IH-707?

No, we will keep as many details as possible exactly the same.  Sorry.  It get's really difficult to manage more than one variant of a model, it is fraught with problems.  So we only do it if there is a really compelling reason to do so.  Also it would mean going out to retailers who have already ordered and ask them if they still want to take the same numbers.  If they change their minds, I then have to go to Haraki and say "whoops, not only do I want to change the specs, I want to change the quantities.  Result, pissed off just about everybody….

@Giles Fair enough. I suggested so because the button in my IH-702 has come off after a few months of wear.
