I like the fit.  Doesn't look too small to me.

As I said in my PM @neph93 .
You would never get this perfect shoulder and underarm fit in an XL.
But there is a small shrinkage with an 40 °C wash.
I am as unconvinced as you are.
If you soak first, you will see soon after.
