I have been making and eating a lot of sausage lately (save the jokes lads, I'm way ahead of you) and it's loaded with salt, so…. I've probably been retainining a lot of water.

Well in the span of a week I've managed to lose 5 pounds and then put most of it back on. Yesterday was a pancake- and beer- fueled catastrophe.

Yeah, I tore my plantar tendon in Aug and kept re-injuring it. I haven't been able to run, jump, calf raise or lunge in 5 wks. I'm nearly 100% now, but I'm I'm kinda pissed that I didn't adjust my diet sooner.  Oh well.

Good to hear you're on the way back. Thankfully it's winter time, am sure you'll have that washboard 6-pack back by summer :). You and the fam must have been going stir crazy since Aug.

I had a set of Withings scales, unfortunately they didn't get packed when I was clearing out my flat and a friend inherited them. Something on my shopping list once I'm settled.

I'd agree with @Snowy that they're a great bit of kit, though I'm not entirely convinced by their bodyfat reading. I dropped 12 or 13 kg, and my bodyfat percentage barely budged…

@Graeme I ignore the body fat reading. Unless you've got their super duper edition, it's impossible for it to do properly.

                          This one is the best:
                          8. Try on your jeans once a week to keep track of how you're going

Arguably a better approach than scales – which do not show weight gain from muscle mass, trying on your jeans will show that your waist and hips are cinching in while your butt, like a little sunflower, perks up.

@Chris, this is the IH forum. I'm sure that most people try their jeans on at least once a day. 😛

Fair point, but how often do we notice that our butt, like a little sunflower, is perking up?

cuz of unknow health/heart problems, i couldn't do my workout as i actually wanted it to…in fact, i did no sports at all the last week 😠
finally went to see the doctor today, got checked (blood pressure, blood sample, upper body x-ray and they even measured my heart rate)...all results are fine, it's just the unknown feeling in my chest that's left.
think i'm going to start working out again on monday...wish me luck 😠

I'll weigh in later. I've actually gained 3 pounds since this started. I've cut back on my booze and food intake, exercised more, yet I'm still gaining weight. Wait, was that the challenge? To gain weight? If so, I'm winning, suckers!! Hahahahahahahah!!!
