Partially new sole on my Grensons. My shoecobbler sais she can remove it in spring and put it back on next winter, but I'm probably leaving it on… I reàlly like how thin and subtle it is... Nice job, I'd say!.. Should give me enough grip as well!.. 20 € job.

Worked with my Grensons and the grip is just phenomenal… So stoked...

Put in my heavy duty inlay soles (the gel feels nice), and replaced my laces by rawhide black'uns... They're not as grey/ green as the pics make them out...

I sent my 634S-B to The Works for some serious repair, and I requested for some photos of the process. Thanks to Giles, Haraki-san, and the lady that repaired my jeans (I think she's Gong?). I'm really happy about the repair, and am super excited about getting it back!

Really cool repair! I love it, and seriously can't wait to put it on again..  🙂

Yup, definitely a very good repair.

I'm not sure if I'm happy about how I beat out my jeans. Haha. I get crotch blowouts in my jeans very quickly. (My IHxB01 is with a local tailor)

I seriously hope that there is a way to slow it down.

with winter in full effect here in middle america I decided to wax my 634sr
I used Fjallraven Greenland wax, last year I waxed my Carhartt jacket with it
it's basically like a bar of soap, you rub it on then use a heat gun or iron to melt it in
I used an iron, my wife's hair dryer is much slower
using a canned product like barbour wax designed to be melted and applied with a brush probably gives a better coating and is physically easier but also much messier and probably takes a better technique
the Greenland wax is pretty easy and foolproof
the process is fun for about 3 minutes, then elbow grease for an hour and you're left with a nice sore arm and a little mess to clean up
I just did one coat, they won't be fully waterproof but it helps for light outdoor duty and cuts the bite of the wind a bit as well
today they'll get some field testing and I might give them another coat
                                  before:

                                  down one leg

                                  detail after that's ironed in

a little heavier along the seams and on the hems

get the hems on the inside too

                                  the kids wanted to help

                                  pocket

                                  end result

excellent project jaco, with pitch perfect execution from you & the little ones.    funny thing is i've been reading up on that stuff trying to figure out if i was going to use it to waterproof/windproof a garment.

should be needless to say you've sold me on the product  😉

***& as an after thought, you might get the slow&steady award for your SRs this winter.

good job for staying the course

the greenland wax is perfect for a not so serious guy like me

finn, there's basically no smell, certainly nothing unpleasant, I did it all indoors and my wife never complained

How should I decide what the best length is for my 666XHS'es?.. I measured my SEXIH07bks and they measure 31.8 but they're a tad too long… If I cuff the XHS'es to the length I want them to be, the hem measures 2.5", and they measure 33" now, so I'd need a 30.5"... My ALDs measure closer to 31" though... Should I play it on the safe side and get them hemmed to 31.5 or should a 31 inseam do (I'm only 5.75')?.. Any advice on how to accurately decide on the length?..

                                            Thanks.
