Hi everyone. So I live in the north of Norway and rarely get let out 😉 Which means my first time in NYC in May led me straight to the Self Edge store where I got to try 666's, BB's and 301's for the first time. I settled on the 301's in a 36W. My first IH's and I love them for all the reason's you guys are already aware of.

They fit great in the store. And now they fit not so great. I still adore them and wear them 4/5 days a week, but the top block has streeeeched a lot, which surprises me a little as they weren't tight anywhere initially. But there you go. My biggest regret is not trying on the 34W 301's while I was there, as now I have a dilemma that I hope someone here can help me resolve.

I want the 555's. But do I go for the 36W knowing that the waist will be a little large already (I generally take 34-36" and the IH fit guide has them at 37") and might stretch some more, but being assured of a good fit in the leg. Or do I risk a 34W Which will stretch to fit but may be way too snug over the thigh? Going by earlier experience with other brands (Hiut, Nudie, Livid Jeans) the 555's will be the slimmest jean I've owned in the thigh, so I'll be relying on stretch to make them wearable if I buy the 34W. What you guys think?

The latest run of 555-01 are much more reflective of true tagsize.  @Madame Buttonfly & @dylantbmayes  will be updating the size chart tomorrow.

Giles (and I have to say, you are quick off the mark), that may just solve my problem. I await the update eagerly. And I guess I can just order them through you and you'll be able to ensure they are from the new run?

Next question, I'm thinking of the new purple and black work shirt that's just come out to go with them and I've no experience with IH shirting. How do the shirts run? I'm xl in Nudie if that helps at all, and 180cm/6' tall and 96 kg/210lbs. I've been looking at your resources and measuring a lot of my own stuff, but if you have an opinion I'd like to hear it.

As a first time customer @dylantbmayes , @Winchy or @Madame Buttonfly will hassle you constantly to double check you have got the correct size…..

I'd go XL in the shirt, possibly XXL.

I'd say XXL, especially if your arms are large-ish.  Haraki like slim fitting sleeves, probably because they flap around less when you're riding a motorcycle.  XL shirt sleeves tend to cut off my circulation at the elbow, because I have weird Popeye forearms.

Thanks for the advice so far. Chris, I've been checking measurements carefully and the XXL looks like it may be the right choice. I've heard about the arm thing before. My forearms are probably about "normal" (?) but I'm big in the upper arms and shoulders. So XXL may me the thing. Good tip.

Will try to do today, but may be tomorrow… in meantime you know how to get hold of one of us if anyone has specific questions  🙂

@Madame Buttonfly, thanks for the update, I look forward to it. My best fitting jeans to date are a slim tapered fit that measured 12.7" in the thigh. They are 13.5 oz Cone Mills made by Livid Jeans and haven't stretched more than .4 of an inch. My specific question is this: Given that IH 21oz denim has some serious stretching potential, will 34W (12.3" on the thigh according to the current chart) stretch enough? I want to avoid the experience I had with my 301S which are now a little too roomy in the waist, top block, and thigh, but the concern is they will be too snug.

I'm crazy impatient at the mo and want to get my order in so any good advice will calm my consumers nerves 😉
