If I hadn't just picked up a pair of boots I'd be all over those.  May still consider them actually, given that they are my size…

Can anyone give me a good description or accurate photo of a Viberg color 8 boot? Is it a true burgundy or kinda brownish? Every picture looks different

Colour 8 is a Horween specification, not Viberg, so if you just google Horween colour 8 you'll be able to see a bunch.

I've had many pairs of cordovans in 8, and they do change from a very deep black/purple to a gorgeous burgundy/brown over time.

edit: for example, mine after 4 years of wear:

Wonderful cordovan and color evo Aries keep em if you can

            Cheers,
            David

Anybody had a pair resoled by Viberg and can shed some light on ballpark cost.  I had a pair of White's resoled by White's for $110, will it be in the same neighbourhood?  I'm just going for a simple vibram 405 no cat's paws or anything like that.

as requested by rafa, a few words about my "viberg 66 hiker":

this is the best fitting hiking boot i ever had!
i wore them for the first time on a 25 km hike, which is normally a bad idea.
after 10 minutes i forgot i was wearing new boots.
after the hike my feet felt very good, a bit tired but no blisters etc.
the construction of the boot is different (few hooks, etc.), but very comfortable:

the best thing is the price!
viberg has a different price-strategy on workboots than on so-called fashionboots.
looking at the craftsmanship behind the 66hiker, i would estimate a lot more work in them than most fashionboots need.
