@motojobobo What an exciting trip you are on. Love the pictures and write up. I’m glad to hear you’re having a great time and enjoying the ride. Never rode an Aprilia but have heard great things about them. Be sure to post pictures of the second half of the trip!

@yannis a lovely bike and defintiely more confortable than a sportsbike, but I'd imagine it has more power than the Panigale V2 I used to have, and that was too fast for the road. It only came alive over 70mph and even with my very limited talent to enjoy the bike's performance meant that I was going very quickly indeed.

I think somewhere around 120-130bhp is the sweet spot for usable road power. The Triumph 1200 twins are a little below that, around 100bhp, but still plenty quick enough 99% of the time.

Club ride today. Up to Fort Ross and back on some truly spectacular Nor Cal roads. The weather was cool and foggy in the early morning. But the sun came out brilliantly after that. Stayed cool enough for leathers with vents open. I’ve attached a route map if you’re interested. Didn’t have time for a lot of pictures as the roads were fairly technical and the pace was somewhat brisk.

Went to fire up the motorcycle for the first ride of the season and realized that the trickle charger was unplugged. Winter killed the battery and a new one needs to be ordered.

@goosehd I got a battery charger you can use. Come on over and pick it up 😂

Sorry to hear about the setback.

@goosehd the trickle charger still may save it. I left mine unplugged one winter, plugged the battery conditioner back in and it was fine. Probably tempting fate but it's still on its first battery.

The Thruxton had its first ride of the season...to the garage. It needs an MOT, a service and I'm getting riser bars added because my back is fucked and I need a more upright position.
