It would be really sweet if the next M-65 had interior buttons to support the M-43 liner as a liner.

Does it need buttons? Would that not affect the functionality of the liner being used on it's own?
The liner as designed would work fine either way, was just suggesting a way to secure it in a field jacket would be nice, not to mention the possible halo effect in terms of sales. Interior button loops on one side of the shell's zipper and buttons on the other side of it would do this, though the sleeves wouldn't be secured, and those are arguably the biggest annoyance when layering (when the interior sleeves bunch up in the shell sleeves). Just spitballin.

Love herringboners. This year maybe just the black/navy. Think IH Japan are doing showings in a few venues and have a lookbook floating around as well. . .

Are the heavy flannels western-only? Getting a green but would prefer a work shirt this time.

Western it is, thanks. I am trying to replace this Flat Head work shirt in a selvage flannel that was a very similar colorway, but alas a bit tight. Their sizing is so damn frustrating sometimes.
