Yea thats what got me too as well as them being pretty close to the wolverine 1000 miles which I really wanted but didnt want to fork over $400 for

I asked the guy about that because he had the color as brown in the listing.  He said they are browner than the pics show.  Either color i thought it would be that bad for $85 either way

I had a feeling these were a score..I was debating for 3 days on them.  They actually had a starting bid of $85 which I let the auction expire.  I then messaged the guy and said I'll take them right now for $85..He said DEAL.  To top it off he lives in NYC which means I'll have these by Monday.  Thanks for all ur responses, they made me feel a lot better

The sole is exactly the same as well as coloring.  They are $500 on there.  Wow that shows 2 things..1) I do not know boots like I should BUT 2) My instinct was spot on

Yep, looks like Red Dog smooth dress leather, Vibram Composition or Mini Lug sole, standard trim, single leather midsole, brown edging, antique hooks and eyes, standard "cuban" heel. That, is a proper score my friend.

and to think it was a toss up of with a pair of timberland earthkeepers.  Thanks guys for the reassurance & knowledge

Definitely composition sole, but the heel is black not standard. Amazing score you lucky bugger, can I ask what size they are?

Megatron, I just received the Whites.  I cant believe how well these things are made and they weigh a ton.  The coloring on them isnt as RED as the pics that were on the ebay listing.  They are a bit darker like a cherry brown.  I am waiting on my 666XHS to arrive.  Once they come in the mail in a few days i'll let u know what i am going to do with these.  PM me an offer of what u would buy em for & I'll mull it over for a few days.
