IMO the red mutes some of the better tones in that color boot. However with the background being a similar tone, the leather isn't going to standout anyhow.

I agree with jdl; the red is a bit overpowering for that shade of leather.  I'd go with something boring, like a waxed brown cotton.  That will put the attention on the boots, not the laces.

Yeah I'm starting to realise I should of stuck with the original laces in the boots.
Will post a pic of original laces later.

I think dark navy blue laces would be awesome in those boots… just the right pop to bring the eye to the boots.

Thanks. Yeah I had thought of dark blue.

here's a pic of original laces and red laces in boots.

Don't like the originals at all - and agree the red is too much (though I generally like red laces). You might be able to do a really dark forest green as well.  I also like flat laces in a dressy boot like that.

These ? (but my jeans are the same colour as the laces then ?)

or how about these colours in 110cm length ?

And I'd wear boots like that with chinos to work or go out - if wearing jeans you could do the red! Or wear your White's or Wescos.  With a dark blue, tapered, dressier cut jean, the green or blue would still be cool.

Just my opinion! I like messing with laces.  🙂

P.S. check out the "work boot" laces as well for your other boots - they're great too.

You're right .. they are a tad broader (and not waxed) like my Wolverine ones.
But the colour is fine! You could maybe try round brown laces.
