I really love a good cup of coffee. i was in SF a couple weekends ago and picked up bags of beans from Sightglass & Fourbarrel and i've been drinking that stuff like water. Today I just got a bag from Cafe Grumpy in the mail and am stoked to brew up a cup.
      any other coffeeheads?

        Cool thread 🙂

I love my gaggia classic espresso machine. Only two a day though otherwise I go bat shit.

        I use Illy pre-ground.

Illy for me too, in my stove top pot.
I've been eyeing up a Rancilio Espresso machine though.

i had a few cups of blue bottle while i was in sf too. theres a kiosk just down the st from my friends shop in japantown. its pretty good, but they only had the chiapas. which coincidentally is exactly what they had last time i was there in december. it's good, but i think it is 3rd behind sightglass and four barrel but better than ritual

Wow, apparently Coffee is a big deal to you all. If it is hot and not "instant" crap, I am in. No reason for me to spend my time obsessing about something that is just going to be pissed out of me 20-30 minutes later. Just my opinion but I can respect most fetishes and obsessions so proceed without me…

Secret to a good coffee (and it doesn't cost you more than a meal)…

                      1.  Bring water to a boil... turn it off and wait 1 minute.
                      2.  Grind your coffee.  I suggest using a Baratza coffee grinder.

                      3.  Freshly grinded Coffee + Filter + Chemex coffee brewer…

                      +

                      4. Add the Hot Water…

Presto... good yummy coffee.  (add cream/sugar according to your discretion).

For iced coffee, look up "hourglass coffee". My best friend got me one of those contraptions for my bday and I love it. Fair price on Amazon too

Do any of you coffee lovers know a good way to make iced coffee?
Or any of you like Chicory blends and have some to suggest? I've figured out what i like…

Use a cold extraction method to brew your iced coffee, as opposed to a hot brew, then icing that.  It lessens the bitterness and you get a taste more true of the coffee your using because you do not have to use very much cream and sugar.  Also, it's a little hard to get, but coffee from Cuba is the shit, IMO.
