Coffee

My obsession (or addiction) with coffee predates my japanese denim and Alden fanfare.
Secret to a good coffee (and it doesn't cost you more than a meal)…
1. Bring water to a boil... turn it off and wait 1 minute.
2. Grind your coffee. I suggest using a Baratza coffee grinder.
3. Freshly grinded Coffee + Filter + Chemex coffee brewer…
+
4. Add the Hot Water…
Presto... good yummy coffee. (add cream/sugar according to your discretion).

I'm more of a tea time person and drink coffee less often, but as usual, YMMV.

oh i also work as a barista... where we hand make everything so dosing, tamping etc etc.

Do any of you coffee lovers know a good way to make iced coffee?
Or any of you like Chicory blends and have some to suggest? I've figured out what i like…Use a cold extraction method to brew your iced coffee, as opposed to a hot brew, then icing that. It lessens the bitterness and you get a taste more true of the coffee your using because you do not have to use very much cream and sugar. Also, it's a little hard to get, but coffee from Cuba is the shit, IMO.

toddy makes pretty good cold brew equipment

I must confess I'm not a big coffee drinker, but my other half is a Barista Maestro for Costa. I tried to get her some of this for fun, but the postage was insane for the UK:
Grey Dog's Coffee
http://thegreydog.com/catalog/Looks like a good place though! Anyone familiar with it?

if she's a barista - buy her some raw denim. I love the used jeans from baristas, the get such a nice dirty look. See e.g. on context clothing.

She'd love some for work, but sadly they have to wear all black and no jeans. Savages…
