GORUCK Challenge
-
I got caught in a down pore on Thursday night 1 mile into my 4 mile walk. My iPhone was in outside compartment and remained completely dry I however was like a wet dog. Rain just beads right off the cordura.

I hope it continues to work like that d666 :). I've had leakage on items that started waterproof after 10-20+ hours of total time in the rain. I'll likely be in the rain for around 60-100hours this year. I'll do some reading. My current bag is 100% waterproof externally as well as pvc lined….Thanks for the reply d666, I'll be back at some point

I'm still considering a GR1 for bike commuting with a laptop, and considering we get a fair amount of rain here in the UK, one of my key requirements is that it doesn't leak! As far as I could tell Goruck only claim the pack is water-resistant since it would eventually let water in if you held it submerged under water, which is a requirement if you want to claim waterproofness.
Once I can convince myself that the high cost plus the additional costs of shipping and UK customs charges are worth it, I'll buy one…...I'm not that far off

It's a tremendous bag

Very nice Sean if you need pointers hit me up. It is doing wonders for me. I'm down 35# have tons of energy and feel fantastic.

Thanks, d. And will do. It was all of the glowing endorsements on this site that prompted me to give it a go. Truthfully, the sustained energy, and digestive benefits interest me more than anything.
I really appreciate the attitude of everyone on this forum. It's such a great place to share new ideas. I've learned a lot, and I feel like my well-being continues to improve from the great advice I've received.
Obviously, this is very much the beginning, but I am excited to progress; and, again, thrilled for the opportunity to have a challenge like the IH GORUCK event to train for.
Edit: And congrats on the weight loss, d666. It is noticeable in your recent pics and I'm sure it has to feel great; especially for a former basketball player.

All my digestive problems went away day 1. I never got heart burn again. I started doing whole30 then switched to Paleo after 1 month.

Appreciated Sean/Rafa. I have only begun. I have a long, arduous journey ahead and I will accomplish my goal. My determination and will power is strong and with each pound lost and each workout and meal it's gets stronger and I get closer to achieving the goals I have set for myself. You guys will be astonished when you you see me at the challenge and yes I promise you will all be able to "carry me"
