GORUCK Challenge

September 7, 2013, sounds doable & since it's in NY really can not really say no.
As usually i just have to check with my boss to make sure she . . . i mean we have no plans.

So true..

Random Goruck challenge question.
There is talk of getting wet, but is there swimming? Do i need to be Michael Phelps to do this? Can deal with a dunk but swimming . . . .
-
Not swimming basically wading and doing calisthenics in the water.

thanks d666
if i go under too long you got to come get me big man . . . or i might tie your beard around my waist like those folks that put their kids on a leash. if you feel a tugging give me a pull.
was just looking through the goruck site & they have some great work outs & seem to have come a long way. anyone that hasn't had a look in a while should take a look see . . .

What? This is common in the USA
-
Oh yeah, it's a requirement in Oklahoma. Kids must be leashed at all times.

suitcase sit ups w/ sandbell overhead

Okay, it's been a while since I posted in here. Still working at it. I'm definitely getting stronger, but Z's little piece of advice re: increasing the weights was good for the ole' perspective. I was literally planning a purchase of a 45lb. bell that day.
I have 3 weeks of Paleo in the books. Zero slip-ups. I feel great. It takes a little bit more planning (I get hungrier, sooner), but it's absolutely worth it. My energy is through the roof; and, most importantly, my digestive problems have dramatically improved.
Unfortunately, I am going to crash hard tonight. I'm getting together with a bunch of old college buddies that I haven't seen in a long time. I know I can eat right, but beer will be consumed.
-
whoa!!! as rick flair would say
exaggerated lunges w/ KB's
push ups w/ feet in bandit loopsbackwards lunges
spider man crawlskater lunges
bicycle sit ups
orbital planks left then right 1o secs each wayeverything else 30 sec x 4 rounds

burned my neck at the range last friday with hot brass & have been using that as an excuse to slack off on continuing my GORUCK Challenge prep work. the great thing is i feel like shit without the random workouts >:(, so i will be attempting a more structured routine sooner than later. will keep all posted
zee i always took you more for a Big John Stud or Bob Backlund kind of guy.
that whoa!!! was motivating . . .

Jody had some brass land right between the "girls" last Saturday…me and the two guys (that I don't know) in the next lane had a pretty good laugh at her expense

thanks Monday, kinda feeling like King Kong Bundy after hitting the scale this morning, need to jog more I think?
I always try to remind myself that weight isn't really everything and the way you feel and the way your clothes are fitting etc is much more important. Along those lines, things are going well out here in CO, but dropping 20 or so is really not as easy as it use to be that much I am certain of…
Doug, you take your "girls" to the range? People give me some pretty dirty looks when I take Ryder
-
Anybody get to the point where they've burned out yet? Every three months, I take a week off to recharge the battery
I used to work out six or seven days a week, long hard workouts. Then I started to notice that I would either plateau, backslide, or get a cold out of nowhere. I was pushing my body too hard and my body pushed back
Taking a week off also helps prevent injuries from overtraining. I just took a week off a few weeks back
Z: Jody comes with me 50% of the time. She's a pretty good shot, and if anyone gave a dirty look at her at the range because she's a woman with a gun, she'd probably leave a ring shaped burn mark on them
-
No no, bad attempt at humor that didn't convey…awesome that Jody goes to the range with you man!
-
*yes sir
