New warch arrival… This is an Omega De Ville 4533.31. I’ve been looking for a “true”, or traveller’s, dual time watch, and that one was one of my top choices.

@JDelage very classy and functional addition to the flock! I’ve always thought the Deville deserves more attention so I’m glad you nabbed one. How is the bracelet?

The bracelet is very comfortable and unique looking. I'm not sure I would want it as my only watch, but as a rotation piece I think it's a lot of fun. Note that the brick road bracelet is also available on a yellow gold model; it must be quite something.

@JDelage That's a nice dressy GMT watch. Is that still being sold? I could not see that from the Omega's website?

@the246guy - no, it's a few years old. I bought it from a seller in Japan, on Chrono24. There's not a lot of traveller's GMT produced these days, and most of those are very thick. The best "true" GMT being made right now's probably the Rolex Explorer II, but it's impossible to get. Grand Seiko makes a fair number but they're too thick.

@Dans the blue Omegas are nice, but the highlight of that collection has to be the PloProf, which is the central watch in the below photo. That said, I'd prefer the titanium model from a few years ago.

@JDelage are you getting the Moser?

Singer Reimagined were the original users of the Agenhor chronograph movement that the Moser shares, and they've just unveiled the 1969 models, which are slightly more compact and slightly more retro. They look really nice.

When it comes to watches, like most things - I’m pretty unrefined. I’m hard on my stuff, but I do prefer autos. The Russians fit the bill.
Komandirskiye and Amphibia are fun to mod and hold up well enough, and I dig the weird styling.

im in the same boat and I swear by my Amphibia for the daily, so much so I built my own from modified parts, on hot days like today I wind up with Yuri Gargarin's face imprinted on the back on my wrist

@Ross Nice one! Gotta love the Ministry. Yeah these two get more wear than my Orients or my Seiko. They're great dailies. By "unrefined" I really just mean by comparison to many of the high-end pieces I see throughout this thread. I'd LOVE to get a Seamaster, I just know that I'd destroy it and it doesn't deserve that, lol. Most times I can't have nice things. IH Jeans and such are one thing I'm willing to overspend on though, because unlike a nice timepiece I think they get better as they wear out. There are few things that have that quality.

@WhiskeySandwich Yep, exactly that. at least if one of these gets some dinks or scratches (which mine certainly has after 10 years service) it doesn't really matter at all and I can keep a nice watch in reserve for occasions.
