Cartier does design better than most luxury watch brands in my opinion. The Tanks are extra good. I have a Tank American and my wife has a Tank Cintree from a couple years back.

I agree @JDelage, Cartier seem to be able to nail design very well. I was sad to the "Drive de Cartier" line axed. I thought this was a versatile line within the collection.

The line I struggle with is the Santos ( contrary to popular opinion ) None of the flat face screw heads on the bezel or bracelet align. I am not OCD but I can't really cope with the randomly finished screw heads on the Santos.

I got off the rig (having been at work for a few weeks) on Monday just past and spent the afternoon around Dubai Mall watch browsing. A few random take aways from the afternoon:

. The new Zenith pilot watches are nicer in the hand than the press release pictures give away. These were the only 2023 Watches
and wonders release watches in any of the boutiques I visited, and I visited most of them.

. I have reiterated my request to be allocated the Salmon dial Chopard Alpine Eagle 41 XPS.

. Still can not get onto any kind of Patek or Rolex list in Dubai.

. I was pleasantly surprised by the finishing (dial mainly) on the current Breitling range. The Top Time chronographs were well executed fun watches.

. The one watch I could have easily purchased and took home was the basic time only Bulgari Octo Finissimo in matt black ceramic. Super light, thin and comfortable. The chronograph version was too big for my wrist.

. I know very little about Panerai but out of curiosity visited their showroom. I learned that I can rock a 45mm case Radiomir, they wear smaller than the case size number suggests.

@ddtrash being a manly offshore worker, you've developed massive forearms! 😁

The Alpine Eagle XPS looks lovely, as does the LUC 1860 that uses the same movement.

Yeah, that Chopard LUC was my fav' of the new models presented at W&W. It's really pretty.

I dwelled on omega long and hard but couldn’t find a reliable preowned one (focused on the aquaterra or Railmaster in blue) so I went with this new for ability to wear consistently when I’m not wearing my Garmin. Any other experience with this?

The Oris Pro Pilot with the 5 day movement has been getting rave reviews from Hodinkee, etc. I personally like the Kermit version 🐸

Did you already buy the Oris? I am a little confused.

New warch arrival… This is an Omega De Ville 4533.31. I’ve been looking for a “true”, or traveller’s, dual time watch, and that one was one of my top choices.

I’ve been a watch nerd since I was kid. Love them and I own a few nice references.

@JDelage very classy and functional addition to the flock! I’ve always thought the Deville deserves more attention so I’m glad you nabbed one. How is the bracelet?

The bracelet is very comfortable and unique looking. I'm not sure I would want it as my only watch, but as a rotation piece I think it's a lot of fun. Note that the brick road bracelet is also available on a yellow gold model; it must be quite something.
