Watches - another OCD problem
-
Gorgeous @babyknight Could I bother you for a side on picture while on the wrist so I could get a feel for the thickness of the case? Only if you have the chance, of course.
-
Thank you @madmonday Sure @Qinhan, here's quick photo with my cellphone - not the best quality but hopefully you get the idea. As with I think most vintage Rolex/Tudor from this era, it's really not that thick especially compared to the modern pieces. It has enough presence to be a sports watch without being overbearing.
-
Thanks @Qinhan , yes I definitely am! It was not a model I was specifically looking for but when I saw the condition of it I moved very quickly - it's a relatively rare model (only produced for a short space of time) and I know enough to know that one doesn't see them in this condition very often at all. The dealer I bought it from actually just got it from Japan and had it in the US for a couple of days before I was able to snag it. As with all my vintage pieces, they will be occasional wears rather than daily wears. I wouldn't wear it with a suit but with anything else it goes great.

I love it when I see Babyknight has posted in this thread. Always quality pieces! @Flash Let me know if I can be of any help with info on copping a Tudor in HK. I'm not sure if you want a Black Bay or vintage. The BB you can get cheaper over here than the UK (particularly if you know an ''auntie'' who works for a watch chain like me, hehe). Retail for the BB with bracelet is HKD 26,800. Vintage Tudor subs are not common - I mostly see the Big Block chronos - but the Vintage Concept has a few for big boy prices… www.thevintageconcept.com

According to aBlogToWatch, Tudor are going to be releasing a new piece at Basel with their first in house movement. It'll be called the North Flag, and feature a COSC rated movement with a silicon mainspring and a 70 hour power reserve. Picture from the Watchawrist Instagram feed.

That's going to be a nice one. I hate the non-standard lugs, though. Part of the fun of owning a watch is swapping straps to change the look, and they've effectively killed that option.
-
I agree but looks cool. Kinda Seiko Landmasterish.

Found this and wondering if it is too good to be true ? http://forums.watchuseek.com/f30/f-s-seiko-skx007j-7s26-0020-automatic-diver-made-japan-1591418.html If it looks to be a deal , anyone here a member on that forum ? This is my back up option eventually : http://item.rakuten.co.jp/goodyonline/skx007j/ Thank you all
-
I am but at that price and from the Philippines Id be a skeptic.
-
I dunno, price seems reasonable. It's got some obvious wear, and is that a chip in the crystal near the 2 o'clock marker? Not that it matters, it's gone now anyway…
-
Ahh thanks lads . Looks like the search continues …. cheers

Just arrived, a pre owned Grand Lange 1, model 115.028. White gold, luminous dial and hands. This is the older Grand Lange 1 which has the overlapping sub-dials. I quite like this as it gives the watch a bit more character compared to the non overlapping dials found on the regular Lange 1 and the new Grand Lange 1. The details found on the movement are stunning and very difficult to capture without a decent macro lens for your camera. Huge thanks and shout out to @Graeme who has been a fantastic source of information and advice while I was shopping for this recent purchase. I have lost count of the number of PM's we have exchanged while discussing this watch purchase and horology in general. Graeme, I owe you a few beers for sure! Got there in the end my friend!
