Nice shogun @Chiba J. Like the sub

Yeah the bb is great have been lurking around that watch since the red re-Interpretation came out in 2012. have no prob with Fauxpatina too.

Well well the blue really pushed me over the edge and my man @Sugar Mountain killed me with your wristshot so I had a little visit at the AD and oh yes the blue on leather strap was still available in stock, juhuuuu. I am back in the watch game after a while without sub. Feels awesome and i prefer the blue a bit more for everyday use. That baby gonna be rocked

      Cheers,
      David

Congratulations @davito. You got yourself a fine watch. Looking forward to seeing a wrist shot or two from you soon.

@Qinhan Which Bulang & Sons straps did you cop? Their photos of the Blue Bay are arguably the best out there and I love the look of the BB on the camel tone leather strap. Looks stunning. Can't wait to see the straps on your Tudor Sub.

@Chiba J. Digging that Seiko Shogun. I imagine that watch could take a proper beating (like any Seiko!)

^^ The feature that Shogun owners rave most incessantly about seems to be the Daishield treatment that Seiko used on their titanium for the shogun. Apparently it is near scratch proof. So, yes, this one should take a proper beating, and then some….

Davito, nice score I'm sure it will serve you well! The more I see the blue, the more I like it.

Chiba, I can attest to the quality of the ti coating used by Seiko as I wear my Seiko SnowFlake almost daily and it shows very little wear. Citizen's duratect is also very good. I wore a Chronomaster for a year solid and it only shows one larger scratch from hitting a screen door. It must have been a hard enough knock to damage the underlying steel. Back on track, I really like your Shogun, especially on that zulu. Well done!

Agreed that the B&S photos look awesome.

I've been going nuts on straps recently.  I picked up the camel and dark brown straps from B&S and a whole bunch of NATOs from some other suppliers.  I'll get some photos up eventually.  My watch is in for a service at the moment so I might not have it back for a while.

                    Thx bro @Chiba J.

Thx for your kind wishes @Anesthetist

I owned several high end tool watches in the past and i love Rolex but seriously this is the best bang for the buck imho, currently on leather strap, will change to the fantastic woven tudor nato after xmas

                    Cheers,

The more I see of this blue BB, the more I'm feeling that it may be a better choice for me - I've been set on the red one pretty much since it was launched, but the blue bezel really draws me in, and it also works so well on the NATO straps and tan leather straps.
Fortunately Tudor are now available in the UK, so will be visiting the nearest London dealer (Canary Wharf) on Thursday to try on the blue and the red (also maybe the Heritage Chrono)

I prefer the Ranger to the Black Bay.

I don't dive, so owning a Diver's watch strikes me as pointless, and the bezel rotating as it gets knocked on things really irritates my OCD!

Tudor seem to be on a roll these days. I saw an interesting talk by their design / branding guy at Salon QP. The fabric straps they use are woven on a Jacquard loom, which is an early programmable machine.

Owning the style of lots of watches is pointless for some, diver watches, Pilots watches, explorer watches (which the Ranger is, nice watch), chronographs, Moon phases, tourbillons well..i dont dive too i even dont swim as i am not feeling it really and i love leaving the Fish Territory to them ;). I use the bezel for timing stuff. I still prefer the sub style even more than the classic IWC Pilots i had. Tudor was always on the run they were just too much in the shadow of their mother Rolex for some. But they dont need to hide. Its really good they revived their old history with new influences.
I dont care that much when my watch knocks on stuff (of course not on purpose) as it is a Tool watch and not meant to baby imo. I keep it the same as I handle for example my engineers or any other clothing which evolves over time, they live with me. Over and out just my opinion 🙂 i would even rock a patek if i could afford one hell yeah, life is too short 🙂

The nice thing about watches imo is the fact that anybody can identify themselve with a certain story and history and/or usage in their daily life, based upon which they might choose a certain style of watch they like.

                            Cheers,

I think this one looks fantastic on leather and the woven strap, as others have mentioned, is outstanding, colorwise too. But, I think I'd find myself also wanting the bracelet, which unfortunately adds another $300 or so on to the final ticket…...

As you might read i am not really entering water swimming wise (or if i should as exception nato will be fine).

@Chiba J. I was adamant about getting the BB on a bracelet. Even though I have plans to possibly switch it out for a NATO strap next summer, I figured that it would always be better to have the bracelet longer term. The quality of the BB leather strap didn't quite cut it for me either.

@Qinhan While we're on the subject of quality leather, those straps look killer! I appreciate your artistry with the mocked-up Tudor face there too 😉

@davito Completely agree with your longer post above. We can't really limit ourselves to styles of watches where the original design is applicable to our lifestyles. By the same logic, none of us would be wearing jeans or workboots unless we were working on a ranch or putting out bush fires. The Sub-style diver is just a simple classic in terms of utility and aesthetics.

Really enjoying this thread lately btw.
