I won a Strava contest and I’m so pumped on the prize. Indigo dyed Saucony peregrine by 3sixteen. The contest was for the undyed version and they decided to send out 2 pairs of indigo and I lucked out

@Jcaz6996 dude I’m with you! I thought running was something I couldn’t do anymore but the advancements in shoe technology has been a game changer. I missed it so bad. Starting small, signed myself up for a little 5k to start the build up.

Idk how old the post was that I replied to, just realizing it jumped halfway thru the thread when I opened lol
-
@WhiskeySandwich Nice one bud , when’s your 5k race ? What sort of training are you doing for that?
You shooting for a time ?I just completed Cardiff half marathon on the weekend was a lot tougher then expected, putting it down to having 5 weeks training from coming back from injury, those last few miles had to dig deep lol
-
@Jcaz6996 dang well good on you to get up and get thru it after an injury.
I just wanna be near 30, im no where near my old pace, but I’ve been increasing, I feel like I can get there in a few weeks.

Tried and failed to finish the Arc of Attrition 100 mile ultra which goes around the South West Coastal Path of Cornwall in January starting at 1pm on a Friday and we happened to have Storm Ingrid hit. Super hard race, made it 80 miles and didn't have anything left.

Manchester Marathon 2026 completed, so happy with my run. Training paid off but I got totally seized up with calf cramps way out at 38km, lucky it happened so deep into it. Managed to shake it off and trot through to the finish. Beat my PB by a country mile. Which does to be fair indicate the previous two marathons I had actual injury probs on the day (hence was slow but completed) but this time I felt good all the way. Over an hour quicker than previous.
No injury issues, cramps are cramps, it happens. Delighted and really enjoyed my run, amazing crowd support, great weather and a brilliantly organised event.
Signed up for next year already.

Well done sounds like a great day. An hour is a lot to shave off, and if you can avoid those cramps that could also bring the time down

Centurion South Downs Way 50 mile ultramarathon
7 hours 11 mins for 14th place overall
Thanks to a tailwind, ran a lot faster than when I did the same event in 2024 at 8 hours 25 mins
Was a great day, will be back for the South Downs Way 100 in June. Ran that in 17:43 in 2024, so will go for under 17 hours this time

@Nik Thanks! yeah I could prob go just under 4 if I put in some effort. getting too old now haha. never had calf cramps before, ever, just weird.

@Nik incredible achievement!
