Samurai Jeans

Yep, I wore my Wind element pair for 4+ months, even though the fit kinda sucked. I finally gave up and relegated them to being my home improvement beaters. In retrospect, I should have just sold them and cut my losses.

^really depends on your cut preference. 710s are popular. 'got both the prod'n 19oz & the ltd ed Blue Shadow 17oz Zero denim.
but, if you prefer a more versatile+standard 634 equivalent, you should look into the 5000 cut/silhouette [which comes in several denim options].here are some fit/cut samples:
0110xj: 170z Jin denim
710 Blue Shadow: 17oz Zero denim
001jp Yamato: 15oz
5000AI-10SP: ltd ed 170z nat. ai-dyed warp + Bamboo ink-dyed weft
500xx: 15oz Texas cotton -

Since Samurai redesigned the arcs, I think they're allowed to sell versions with pocket arcs in the American market. I believe only the red tab is still prohibited by the Levi's lawsuit. I'm not positive about that, though.

I've recently developed an interest in Samurai jeans, and the urge to get a pair is growing daily - most likely the 710 or 5000 cut (although the 0500 looks great too).
I can't find much info on the difference between the denim of the 710xx (19oz) and the 710VX (17oz "Blue Shadow").
Obviously there is a weight difference, but what else? Not just wear characteristics, but shrinkage/stretching behaviour too. Also, has anyone got experience with the 24oz Samurai denim that they could share?
More questions to follow….
Cheers!

I have the 24 oz. S5000VX RnR, they're pretty damn heavy…Being raw denim they tightened up a bit after
the first wash and stretched a little in the waist after about a week. I wore them for nearly a year before
washing them again and they tightened up a lot more after the second wash.
They're a 34 waist and are a 33 now, length is about a 34, tagged length is a 36. The denim bleeds like
crazy on these too, a lot of my brown boots have blue rings around them now!
They are 27 oz. after the washings and starting to show some marbling evo, I need to post some pics of
them as they're looking pretty good. -
I'll try and get pics up this coming weekend Flash.

looking forward to that BH!!!

They're looking pretty good b_F, you'll dig the pics.

I have no experience with the XHS (just tried them on) but the 24oz is forgiving. Mine shrank from 34 to 32 and stretched out to 34,5. But yeah…if I could do it again I would take the size 35. You don't want to have skin tight 24oz (or heavier) denm.
Fit pic:
I'm glad I lost some pounds simnce so they are more comfortable.

thx!
the 24oz is definitely tougher than the 17oz version but still forgiving (in my eyes)
hehe
