Awesome build Jii! I had a 26" Inbred a few years ago, and loved it…..wishing now that I'd kept it! Your pics are edging me closer to another SS build though, love how that Bareknuckle looks, but I'm also considering a Surly Steamroller. Currently running a Specialized Carve for my daily commute, and it's coping just fine with West London's lumpy roads, but a fixie might be a nice change  🙂

          Thanks guys!

Tmg, the Steamroller is a lot more versatile than the Bareknuckle (but you probably already knew that). Loads of guys I know have a roller and the only critique I've heard is the low bb and the fact that you can't fit a pair of full length fenders with winter tyres. Otherwise I think it's definitely "the one bike to rule them all".

A local shop here In Helsinki have designed an improved version of the Steamroller, the Pelago San Sebastian. Check it out and if you're interested they'll probably ship it abroad ( and if not I might be of help).
Pelago San Sebastian (if you're interested and need translation info etc. hit me with a pm)

Here's a nice San Sebastian build, it works just as nicely with drop bars, a riser or a moustache bar:

Haha, I love Ashtons, Akriggs and (especially) Danny McAskills videos. Bike trials vids are quite entertaining to watch. They're always really nicely edited and always include some of those "oh shit he didn't just do that did he" moments.  I feared the headtube on that carbon fork in Ashtons vid would snap any minute…

I've got a SS 29er and this thread is a good reminder it and I both need to spend more time on the trails. Unfortunately I've been procrastinating on getting a helmet and it's kept the bike stored all summer.  😞

Spent the weekend converting my tires to tubeless using Stans NoTubes rimstrips and latex goo. It was a complete PITA to get them installed properly but I did and took them out for their first test run yesterday. The difference in feel is immense, less rolling resistance and so much more grip thanks to being able to run at much lower pressure. I did however manage to burp the front tire at the end of the ride, thankfully I was on grass so no damage to either me or the wheel even though it disinflated in a heartbeat 🙂 I'll probably upgrade the tires to Maxxis Ardents in the close future, they have a bit more sturdy sidewalls than the Ignitors so maybe I'll get rid of the burping problem.

I run RR 2.4s tubeless on my Swift. Awesome set up and no way I'd go back to tubes. Takes some fiddling with pressure to avoid the burping I found.

Yeah I was running a pressure around 1,5 bar, gonna try 1,8 today and see if it helps (that's a little less than 30 psi). If that doesn't work I'll switch to the 2,25" Ardents I bought yesterday, they have a slightly more sturdy sidewall than the Ignitors.

I think the Ardents are supposed to work pretty well tubeless (good tyres too).

So I've heard. The conditions at the moment are severely muddy though and from what I've read online that's not their best environment..

I run Mavic X819 tubeless rims with Schwalbe NN UST tires on my Liteville. It´s not the lightest but a really durable set.
I love to ride tubeless, much more comfort and grip.
