I sold my HTC Hero cause I'm going to buy the Desire, which is basically a Nexus One, once it comes out. The hardware specs of those devices are extremely promising!

@DougNg: Rooting the Android is definitely something I would go for. The infamous CyanogenMod is available for the Google N1 and will be released the HTC Desire.
I think some people already managed to flash the N1 firmware to the Desire, which proves that those 2 devices are almost identical.

BTW, what firmware runs on your Droid?

The official firmware version that's on the Droid is 2.0.1…but I'm currently using DroidMod 1.0

I hear a lot of good things about Cyanogen, but Droidmod is so easy to use. The long and the short of it is that I'm lazy. I might upgrade to Cyanogen when I finally get home though. Been getting a lot of force closes on Droidmod
