Which Cell Phone do you own?

Huge fan, like it so much better than the gen1 iPhone I had prior. The apps have much more meat in them and the phone is SO much more customizable. You won't regret getting one...

I'm an iPhone now but when my AT&T contract expires (1 year), I'm going Android. Fits in with my Linux loyalty too.

I have had the Droid since it came out. Great phone, lousy physical keyboard. I'm coming from a Blackberry, so I'm spoiled. BB really has the best keyboards out there for a smartphone
The main reason why I didn't go with the iPhone is because you can't remove the battery and swap it out. For me, this is critical, since I'm always on the road, either in NY driving to inspections for out of town from meetings and trainings
The Droid is REALLY customizable. If you're willing to do a little research, you can root your phone and then you can download new Android operating systems. You can also push the processor faster than what the manufacturer has capped it at. For instance, the Droid is capped at 550Mhz by Motorola. However, I have overclocked mine to 1200Mhz. There are some minuses to this, mainly battery life is reduced and you occasionally get a force close because the processor is getting too hot, but it's FUN.
Giles, the Droid has been out since Nov, so there's going to be something bigger coming out any day now. Don't know what yet, but keep an eye on those websites
Shub, you might want to keep in mind that ATT has locked down their Motorola Backflip phone so that you can only download applications from the Android Marketplace, not anywhere else. You might want to look into this before you buy an Android phone off ATT. I don't know if they're going to make this policy for all phones, or they're just going to do it for this one phone. I can tell you that there are a lot of angry people on the Android forums about this

G, v. good review of the Nexus here: http://tinyurl.com/yzwznwf

I sold my HTC Hero cause I'm going to buy the Desire, which is basically a Nexus One, once it comes out. The hardware specs of those devices are extremely promising!
@DougNg: Rooting the Android is definitely something I would go for. The infamous CyanogenMod is available for the Google N1 and will be released the HTC Desire.
I think some people already managed to flash the N1 firmware to the Desire, which proves that those 2 devices are almost identical.BTW, what firmware runs on your Droid?

The official firmware version that's on the Droid is 2.0.1…but I'm currently using DroidMod 1.0
I hear a lot of good things about Cyanogen, but Droidmod is so easy to use. The long and the short of it is that I'm lazy. I might upgrade to Cyanogen when I finally get home though. Been getting a lot of force closes on Droidmod

@Madame:
It arrived…..
My weekend is screwed, G needs to get close and personal with new toy…
Speaking from experience, it will probably be longer than a weekend!
Congrats, G!
