IHM-37-BLK - Oiled Whipcord N1 Deck Jacket - Black
-
I picked up this jacket from a stockist right around the release date. The jacket has been fantastic and I have no complaints. GF mentioned this week that my jacket smells a bit sweaty. I don't recall if I got any care info when I bought it (can't find anything now) and don't see any tags inside on cleaning, so, any recommendations on the best way to clean the interior of this oiled N1?

@Zeplo1 Thanks for getting in touch, thats weird that there is no care label on the inside, however I have attached a photo for the care for the the IHM-37 but the Khaki version which will be the same care guide.
If the jacket is getting a bit smelly I would try turning inside out to start with and airing out the jacket, if this doesn't help my next steps would be the following.
Ironing with a one-dot setting typically means low heat, which is important for alpaca or wool-lined items not to get damaged. It is also imperative that you use a cotton cloth to help protect the garment from direct heat exposure, so I would turn the jacket inside out and using your cotton cloth as a thin barrier I would then lightly press the iron against the jacket, I wouldn't recommend gliding the iron over the jacket. Then let the jacket cool down flat to maintain its shape and avoid any distortions in the fabric.
The signs as well going from left to right mean:
1: do not wash

2: do not bleach
3: do not tumble dry
4:Max temp at 110 degree C or 230 degrees F
5: do not dry clean

Hype!

Sorry if this is a really annoying question (new here), will a sizing chart be added to this post before the launch or should I keep an eye on the item page on the website for the sizing chart?

Awesome, thanks @SamD

Can't wait for it.
Still a little on the fence regarding sizing. L would probably provide a good fit on sleeves and length, but seems far too snug for me on chest and shoulders. Guess I have to ask the team for an XL with shorter sleeves.
But if I see it correctly, the sleeve length on N1s is measured including the storm cuffs ?

Hello all. I have a question for N1 owners out there. Can you share your experience with the wool/alpaka lining. Read somewhere that after awhile the volume decreases after breaking in the jacket. I guessing giving a little more room. Is that right? How long does that take for the fur to loose it's unbroken in state (having a hard time describing this but when the fibers are still straight and very fluffy when it's brand new) and become more matted and curly with use and time?
Thanks hope that's clear. Have posted a example picture for reference.

Will it make a difference for me in terms of duties and taxes to order from the IH International site vs the Iron Heart Germany site? Or will it ship from the closest stockist regardless which site I purchase from?

@Domi I have the XL, and would probably look/fit perfectly in the L - especially in the sleeves. The sleeves are easily cuffed inwards though by about half and inch or a little more. The sleeves themselves bunch up pretty fast though, so I end up just folding them in a small cuff. I’m glad with the XL as it’s perfect for my shoulders and chest area.

I am really tempted by this release and curious if someone could help with a question?
I have a whipcord A2 (non-oiled) and would like to hear from someone with both a A2 and N1 as to how much warmer the N1 is in comparison. My A2 is a Xl and fits great in the shoulders, while being a little boxy and wide throughout. I could probably fit into a Large quite easily, but don’t mind a little extra room. I have the lightweight deck jacket in Large and it would be perfect if I had just a little extra room in the shoulders. It is fine with just a light layer or sweater….but I would still love an extra inch in shoulder.
Based off the lightweight N1 in Large I am thinking I should go with a XL in the N1? The 19” shoulder measurement scares me a little as it is the same as the lightweight N1. I’m 6’ 175 with broader shoulders.
