Wonder Looper

@Brandrea Great point! I didn't even consider this. To be honest, if I splurged on this it would be worn so sparingly I probably wouldn't be worried about pilling.
IDK, this stuff gets put on such a high mental pedestal it almost defeats the intended purpose. I wanted to get an IH 21oz apron last summer but flip-flopped until they were sold out and missed my chance. I thought I might not want to get it dirty so I wouldn't end up using it the way I use my old apron. Completely silly. I brought that up here recently and Goosend replied with "It can be washed as any other denim can…" I realized how idiotic I was being. But then again, said apron doesn't cost 2800 Canadian dollars!!
-
@Chibs slept on the apron myself! Hope to see them return one day. They look super crisp new but of course will age into something more beautiful and interesting. It's easy to have that museum preservation instinct with certain pieces but good to have that challenged
-
... I'll stick to my foxfibre tee's instead of babycashmere

-
@Rustygate37 thanks mate. I too am not able to spend the money rare NF/Wonderlooper drop. Their last Made in Japan were almost $900. All fox fiber cotton, hand dyed in japan, shell cordovan patch. I about passed out hitting the pay now button for my XHSib lol
-
@CosmoSix5 The last MIJ's were so expensive, I understand the FF is expensive, but the MIJ16 I got for like £250 seem to have all the bells and whistles and were like 1/3 of the price
(talking about NF MIJ for anyone that's confused)
I'd rather spend the money on IH, I've bought from other brands and IH is just better IMO... It feels a lot better quality

Guys, guys, how about we pool our funds together to buy this. Im in australia, we can rotate who gets to wear it and in what month??? I wont need it for Oct till March mostly. What say you?? (Joking of course....in case sarcasm doesnt translate).
-
@CosmoSix5 such great looking jeans though, but yeah it is a bump up in cost from the 21oz version. One day I’ll finally grab a pair. Only just recently got my first set of 23 oz’, which due to some decent marbling are now a very expensive pair of around the yard/fire wood chopping jeans. Digging the heavy weight of em.

Do NOT buy a Wonderlooper product if you value your bank account. Not because they are not worth it. But because you will start with one and end up with a dozen. My WL obsession is second only to my IH obsession. I put them in similar company in terms of their obsessive passion for the quality of their materials and construction. I did overspend for an iron mordant fox fiber hoody last year, and even I will say that cashmere hoody is crazy town. That being said, I highly highly recommend anything of theirs in fox fiber, and their Superlooper hoodies. Their t-shirts are good, but their sweats are next level good.

-
@rasta 100% The IH of sweats and Ts (though the IH sweats and Ts are good too).
-
@rasta how would you describe the difference between super looper and double heavyweight foxfibre?
-
@americanathreads I’m going to field this one hehe. The Double heavyweight is next level fricken awesome. If you’re only going to get one WL hoodie, this should be it. It’s warm, heavy, but breaths so well. Better than a UHF. I just wore mine this morning for our walk. It was 11 degrees Celsius and I didn’t need a jacket over it. Once I got back and started on breakfast / coffee, I didn’t find the need to take it off inside. That in its self is crazy. The Super looper is more for warmer climates. The uneven terry fabric inside feels unlike anything else. The weight is similar to Ironheart hoodies if you’ve tried those but definitely cooler feeling temperature wise. Those are some of my thoughts on the matter haha. I’ll be doing an in depth review on both, the Double heavy weight, Super looper, + jogging pants. Some of their T’s too. Just picked up a Fox Fibre Coyote 70. Man this shit is just great. Lots more to say!
-
@Chibs Agree with all that. To add...
- Double Heavy Sweat is twice the weight of anything else, great for colder months next year will be brushed which will be amazing...
-But I get more wear from my Fox Fibre Fleece, these are super soft and cost. - Just got the Purple Super Looper - its like wearing a towel.
- IH Sweats / Real McCoys / etc are all nice also but different to the above. These are softer than the Super Looper / Double Heavy so have their place.
Its all good!

Thanks both! Yeah I’ve got a couple of double heavyweight sweaters and the fleeced foxfibre. DBH are insanely heavy and tough. I just never fully tuned into the super looper product line. So definitely lighter weight, more towel like, and more vibrant colors it seems. Feel like a super looper hoody might make sense, I have crewnecks in the DHW, feel like a hoody would be nearly too warm in a hoody.

The Super Looper is a bit lighter, softer and airier. Really plush and cozy. The double heavyweight foxfiber is a bit rougher and denser, its really comfortable in a rugged "weighted blanket" sort of way. They are both plenty heavy, but the french terry can breathe a bit more than a fleeced hoody so they layer exceptionally well.
One thing that surprised me about the iron mordant fox fiber hoody was the weird patina I am getting. Hard to notice in pictures but it does actually develop some interesting patina.

@rasta That texture looks insane! Thanks for sharing that photo

@Chibs @will6er @americanathreads Thank you for sharing your experiences! I'm planning to visit the Yokohama office in November and grab a double heavyweight hoodie and the sweatpants, so I found this info very useful.

Foxfibre coyote 70 is pretty great.
