Forum Like Facility - A Work in Progress…..

maybe it would be better if the numbers of "likes", given for a single post, just would get saved for that single post and not for all the "likes" someone has in total.
cuz atm, if someone`s getting "likes" for a single post, the "likes" from that post are getting aggregated to the likes of another post and not just only for that single post one is actually liking.
hope you get what i mean. and sorry if this wasn´t the actual intention of the like function!

edit: thanks seul and rocket!
nope dunno what you mean…..
well atm you (G.) have 11 likes in total like seen under your avatar "all the time"…so wouldn´t it be better if the numbers of likes just would show for that actual post one´s liking.
the system now:
post 1: 11 people liking the post -> 11 likes visible in total!
post 2: 5 people liking the post -> (11 + 5)= 16 likes visible in total!the system i´ve in mind:
post 1: 11 people liking the post -> 11 likes visible for this post only!
post 2: 5 people liking the post -> 5 likes visible for this post only!got it?

I feel partly responsible for this.. Thanks! I'm not much of a commenter, but I'm one hell of a liker

Aye, but this has always been a personal trait of mine. Must be the business I'm in…

rocket: very good point
finn: I get your point, Giles and I will discuss a bit where we want to go with the like function
when you said fb-like behavior, you mean a post-based like counter correct?
what if we just let people like the first post of a thread (a thread-representative like button thus).
damn, i hope i'll get rid of my splint next week, this would make my work much more effective.

what the hell did you do? get well soon…
I kinda like Finn's point, to value the quality of a single posting with the like button, instead of valuing the member itself, doing both would also be a option, depending on how difficult it actual is, to do this for every single posting...
