@68degreesorless essentially I tried to make it subtle so no one would be the wiser...then failed at subtlety by not realizing my phone would betray me in the bottom left corner

After 6 weeks on the road, I'll be home again next weekend. Thinking of placing a record order to coincide with my arrival. I've been getting more interested in 60s and 70s funk, soul, and funk/soul-influenced jazz. I have names like Cymande, Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, Boogaloo Joe Jones, Jimmy McGriff, Lou Donaldson, Booker T & th MGs, O'Donel Levy, and Jimmy Smith on my want list. Would love to hear any recs in that spirit from the group.

@68degreesorless a great place to discover alot of artists is to trace back and find out the source material of the samples used on 90s hip hop tracks
-
@68degreesorless Cortex, David Axelrod’s Heavy Axe, Joe Bataan, Little Beaver, anything on Mainstream Records (Charles Kynard, Barry Miles, Paul Jeffery)

@68degreesorless When it comes to Stevie Wonder, perhaps Looking Back is an option.
From 60s soul to the 70s balladry and funk.
Motown recordings from 1962 to 1971 on three LP’s.
