Nice! It's kinda mind-fucking me with each image - but in a good way 😉

Total fan of your work though! Your images look like they literally came straight out of a magazine. You ever work with HDR to get the light to pop everywhere?

Lax Life, thank you my dude. I appreciate it. Those images are meant to mind fuck you so I'm glad they do 😉
I use HDR maybe 5% of the time in very extreme conditions when it's absolutely necessary. Not really a fan of HDR, I do compositing in CS so I have complete control.

Yea those images I thought were supposed to haha! Takes me a good 3-4 minutes every tiime I look at them to re-figure them out. I don't blame you for HDR though, I mean I personally love it but I usually see it overdone 85% of the time. I mean it just looks horrible. I have seen some nice architecture photography using HDR though, but from my understanding some architecture photography can take upwards of 50 seperate photos!

I would love to try some architecture photography but that's on one of my many many lists of different types of photography to try. In the mean time I'm reading up on wedding photography so I can hopefully be a second shooter at a wedding. Gotta acquire a ton more gear somehow.

do you have any tuts on the compositing in CS5? I would love to expirement one of these days for the hell of it.

And look at what arrived today everyone!

Well doing commercial architectural and just doing architectural street photography is pretty different. I encourage you to just go out and shoot some architecture..you may be surprised with what you find. As far as compositing and masking goes…it's essential for pretty much all photography. Try to find some video tutorials, and experiment a lot and you'll figure it out, can't really explain it without being able to show you what it's all about. That 85 is a good start for wedding stuff. Before you even try assisting or becoming a second shooter you should find a photographer you can intern with or maybe even be a third assistant lugging gear who would be willing to take you on.

              Cheers guys…

Any opinions on the Nikon 50mm 1:1.4G ?

Thinking about copping it for my Nikon D5000 and since I'm planing on going FF some day I thought it's also useful since I can use it on the FF later as well...

Some say that the AF is pretty slow and others say that they would rather stay with the 50mm 1.4D than going with the newer version...

              I need help y'all 🙂

Are you sure it's usable full frame? I thought the G lenses were for crop slrs… (I may be wrong but I'd look into that first at least. I'm sure it's a nice lens)

yap you can use it on the FF bodies from nikon (D3X, D3S, D700, D300S)…

atm i`ve just read a review in an older magazine i have (09.2011) and there it says, that the AF-S 50mm 1.8G (88.2%) is be better than the AF-S 50mm 1.4G (87,1%) version...and all in all even 200$ cheaper...

                      hmmmmm...

well there you go Finn. sounds like a good choice, 1.4 vs 1.8 just need to decide if you need the extra speed of the 1.4 vs compactness of the 1.8

(oh and I must have been confusing the incompatibility issue with film body issues, the G lenses won't work properly on old manual focus Nikons; has come up for me cause I actually have some of those old manual film cams)

Finn the review site I go to for most things is ken rockwell, check it out http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/50mm-f14-afs.htm

Get the 1.4D instead it's much faster. However, it is kinda noisy.

The Sigma 50/1.4 seems to be a good choice too, I've seen a lot of nice shots all over flickr. Def. works on FF sensors.

Well since the FF capable lenses (when it comes to the 50mm!) ain't that much more in price than the crop versions 1.4G FX=340€ and 1.8G DX=190€ I think a 1.4D or the 1.8G are fine with me…since the reviews aren't that great on the 1.4G on a crop. The 1.8G is better for a crop in the end, so I think I'll go with that...

have you tried the 50 1.4D on both of your cams (since one is FF and the other a crop) ?...
