Photograph and Camera talk

well there you go Finn. sounds like a good choice, 1.4 vs 1.8 just need to decide if you need the extra speed of the 1.4 vs compactness of the 1.8
(oh and I must have been confusing the incompatibility issue with film body issues, the G lenses won't work properly on old manual focus Nikons; has come up for me cause I actually have some of those old manual film cams)
Finn the review site I go to for most things is ken rockwell, check it out http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/50mm-f14-afs.htm

Get the 1.4D instead it's much faster. However, it is kinda noisy.

Well since the FF capable lenses (when it comes to the 50mm!) ain't that much more in price than the crop versions 1.4G FX=340€ and 1.8G DX=190€ I think a 1.4D or the 1.8G are fine with me…since the reviews aren't that great on the 1.4G on a crop. The 1.8G is better for a crop in the end, so I think I'll go with that...
-
I shoot with a 1.4d it is super fast and ultra sharp just a noisy motor.

daaaaaaaaaamn…now i`m jealous
how come you don´t post that much in here? would love to see some pics mate
have you tried the 50 1.4D on both of your cams (since one is FF and the other a crop) ?...
would be nice to read some informations from one who`s able to test it -
Both are cropped sensors. I will post some of my wedding photography for you. I will upload some photos shortly.

Nice, Derivative! I would like to see some photos as well. I'm planning on getting started on wedding photography. I first want to acquire a FF body and create a portfolio before I send out any message if anyone is in need of a second shooter/gear boy. I would love to just go to weddings and observe the photographer rather than getting paid to be honest.
Rafa, don't know about Nikon but for Canon the Sigma 50 1.4 is the second to best nifty fifty. The Canon 50 1.4 sucks as it usually is in need of constant repair, plus Sigma has a 5 year warranty!

I stumbled on this. Nothing to do with denim, but I really wanted to share that
some of the triptychs are fucking haunting

I love 35mm.
