Question regarding waist shrinkage on these:
After the first wash, the waist is expected to shrink by approximately one inch. This reduction reverts with wear to the original pre-wash measurements, or is it permanent? -
@Damocles it reverts brother. After the first initial soak you do, you will lose that inch. In my personal experience it stretches back out within the first 1-2 days of wear. The first few hours does most of it but after a couple days, they sit great.

@worn2fade
Thanks pal! Happy Easter:) -
@worn2fade Thank you!

-
@Damocles happy Easter, God bless you brotha!
-
@worn2fade you notice stretch beyond original raw measurements?
-
@wjw honestly, not entirely certain. I don’t remember what measurement they started as and I got them from ISP not IH so I don’t have that fancy little sheet with the measurements on them lol.
-
How quickly did these sell out in previous runs? I seem to remember they sat longer than normal?
I don’t really need more jeans but I’ve got a gift card waiting for a home….
-
@nrtphotos This could possibly be the last run. If you want them, then do not hesitate.

Wondering this too. I usually buy at 36” and then it stretches out to a comfortable dimension.
So with the raw denim, if I measure my worn-in sanforized pairs and they are measuring 37” after all the stretch, I should shoot for a 37” with the raw pair?
-
Interesting how close the 33 and 34s are. My ideal waist is right at 34". Wonder if I should request a small 34 or a large 33.
-
I’m very tempted to delve into these UHR indigo waters, especially if this might be the last run of this denim. Does anyone know what the variability in waist measurement is like within a tag size? I’m tts 33” waist, so like a previous poster im unsure whether to request a small 33 or a large 32. I’m more risk averse so I am more tempted to try a shoot for a small 33”. I’m worried a 32 will just be too tight for me post wash.
-
@RamblinRich when you make your purchase, place a comment with a note saying that you would like a smaller size 33 or larger size 32. The more information you can provide the crew, the more helpful they can be.
If the thighs and other dimensions are better with one size than the other, then purchase that tag size with the note regarding the waist.

Thank you for your quick reply
. I’ll compare the other measurements to my 21oz SBGs. -
I’ve been lurking for a little over 6 months since I got my first 21oz 666s. Love them, the brand and the forum. Got a couple of waffle henleys and the 17oz duck untucked CPO since too. I really want a pair of the UHR, I was particularly drawn to the story of these looms and the family that made the fabric, it’s a big part of what drew me to IH. My problem is, I’m also about 3 months into a fitness/lifestyle and weight loss change and have no idea how successful it’ll be and what shape I’ll become. I don’t think it’ll be drastic changes but I think I could well be a different guy in 6-12 months. Very tempted to get myself a pair of these 888s that can be a target/reward for the work I’m putting in, in the hopes they fit my future frame. It’s a risk. It’s a healthier risk than betting against myself though and ending up in jeans that are too big. Was hoping to have a low cost month. Oh well.

@DaveC I remember a few years ago when I was on a weight loss kick, I was toying with the idea of buying myself a medium sized t-shirt to eventually hit it, well 3-6 months later and continued gym/diets I went and bought it and low and behold it fit! Good to have ideas, if you set realistic goals you can achieve them... These are also not going to be produced again (UHR fabric) so that might mean something to you too...
Good luck on the journey

@DaveC Shoot for the goal weight, the money motivational alone will help achieve that goal
