IH-777S-UHR - 21/23oz Ultra Heavy Raw Selvedge Denim Slim Tapered Cut Jeans

Trying to figure out what size to pull the trigger on, but know I want the 777 based on the taper/silhouette. Here are the measurements on my 21oz 555-03 (now 555-SBG):
Waist: 38
Front rise: 11.5
Rear rise: 16.5
Thigh: 12.75
Knee: 8.75
Hem: 8
Inseam: 32.5The waist is too big. I can fit both fists side-by-side in the back, so I’m ok with a smaller waist measurement on these.
The thighs and knees are perfect, hem is maybe a touch small for certain boots I own.
The most annoying thing about these is that I’m limited in how high I can lift a leg, so for example running up stairs 2 at a time or getting in a vehicle is a place to be careful.
It seems like 36 in these would be the right call.

@goosehd I plan to do that, but it’s Sunday so I figured I’d post here first, especially reading this thread and seeing someone else with a similar fit experience with the 555 (which I love, but I just want a little more movement in these).

Obviously the best way is to get some measurements from other jeans you own (that don't have stretch fabric) then look at the chart.
But I am going to purchase the 777 UHR next most likely. I also have the 555 SBG in 36 so went and tried on a size 36 777 in store (14oz) and the overall fit was as expected, tight waist, more snug in the sides top block (hips) and more room in the lower leg. The thigh area was still snug. The rise felt a little lower than expected, but I am sure would get used to.Like you, my 555 have stretched to 38 at the waist, and are a little loose now. I will be going with a 36 in the 777 which should be close to 37", then shrink to 36 and stretch back out close to 37. Thighs on the UHR will probably shrink 0.3-0.5 depending on if using a dryer.
In my case I don't think sizing down to a 35 is a good idea. It seems better to have them a bit on the looser side than always too snug, especially if you already have issues lifting your knee. -
@99Tjadams Yeah, the measurements I posted are of my specific pair of 21oz 555 SBG. I have some others I can take measurements of, but they’re mostly 14oz (though no stretch). My 17oz SExIH 633N have been repaired by Rain after a serious blowout and I haven’t quite rebroken them in yet, but maybe that will work to get me a better idea of what enough space is in the top block.
I may end up needing to do something other than 777 and then sizing down, but my actual waist is almost spot on 37 so I think I should roll the dice here and if anything, ask the IHUK team to look for a pair with larger thigh/knee measurements.

These landed today. Went for a 32 as have 32 in 21oz 777. Those that have had experience with UHR what do you think re the fit pre soak? Feels tight round lower thigh and knees but that may be the stiffness of the denim!

Approaching 2 weeks with my pair, pre-soak the fit was super stiff and tough to get a handle on how they fit. After a soak and wash, denim was still tight but has stretched to become a great wear in the cold. Still stiff behind the knees lol
Have they relaxed in pre-soak measurements?

@bluemantra I just tried them on, I didn’t put a lot of wear into them before soaking and washing. My jeans have stretched in all the right places with wear after giving them a soak.
I’d strongly encourage you to give your pair a soak just to get any shrinkage out before you get to really wearing them.

Wonder if anyone could give their pointers on sizing please? Went with my usual size as all other 777’s I have fit perfect. Will these shrink enough/too much? Bit of room in top block but felt tight to pull off over knees and calves? Thanks

Anybody has 634 and 777? I was considering a 777-UHR instead of a 634 to have a slimmer option available. The 666/555 is too tight in the thighs, but I'd like to hear first hand how the difference feels? Love the fit and comfort of my 634-xhsib but sometimes I'd have one pair thats a little slimmer. 888 has too high of a rise for me unfortunately.
