@MrJay I'd shrink them first then just so you can get the exact length

Wear in good health too!

I can see the potential from my pre-soak try-on. These are going to be mint once I get them dialed in.

Hello! New to UHR here. Just wanting to get some advice for storing a new unwashed pair that might not get worked on for a long period of time? With UHR if its new and unwashed, will storing it folded cause any long term issues? Or am i better off soaking and washing when i first get it and just leave it folded in storage? I got an extra pair so was wondering if i need to take this into consideration? Thanks!

@cyclops. I have a much older version UHR the 634SR I think came around 2010. I haven't gotten around to wear it yet. Its been soaked and washed, then folded and put away and still looks good as new. I did nothing special, just folded it and put it in the closet.

My order was supposed to be delivered on Friday, but UPS dropped the ball. Revised delivery tomorrow. Fingers crossed

I would wait to soak until you are ready to start wearing them. I had denim sitting in storage for 15 years. I would wait to soak for 2 reasons, any creases from storage are going to be mitigated by the initial soak and any dust or dirt that might happen during storage will be soaked away.

@rasta the waist will feel small when they dry from the wash. It just takes time, persistence, and a lot of stubbornness and they will stretch back out. Once they do, you will have the perfect pair of UHR’s. It’s not as bad as I’m describing, but for the uninitiated a bit unnerving. Stick with it as it may take a day or two for the waist to stretch back out.
Let us know how it works out for you.
I just want to add that I’ve found spraying the waist with warm water also helps early on during the stretch back out phase.

And not today either, apparently.

-
@atlasfields that‘s a bummer! Same thing is happening with my recent IH order as well

-
The UHR has landed. Tried em on, fit good I think. Going to stash them for a bit as I continue to work on my XHS

I followed the @goosehd sizing advice and the IH website soak and wash advice and everything worked perfectly. Shrink was right on plan. I’m already smitten. These are friggin dense and terse and inky. Damn.
-
These are my first pair of denim over 17 ounces and it sure is an adjustment! After soak and wash the waist BARELY fit and I can only get the top button through. However, the waist seems to be stretching back out already after just a day. These are also my first IH straight fit and I'm really digging them. I usually go with a tapered fit, decided to try something new. I can see these being incredibly comfortable once broken in. It's nice to have a little more room in the thigh and knee area.

New jean goofin

@68degreesorless really good fit!!
-
@goosehd thanks man appreciate your advice on sizing and washing...needle nose pliers have been clutch for the button holes too...it's funny that people get so worked up over UHR sizing - it's easier to size than sanforized/one-washed b/c you just need a perfect fit out of the bag and everything else will take care of itself!
-
@68degreesorless perfect fit
-
@68degreesorless That's what I've been thinking, same goes for xhs.
-
Yup, nope. No delivery today, again. Not taking it personal, yet
