It's best that u inform wolverines about their shitty shoes, and demand a way to resolve the problem man..

Got mine for ~250 a few years ago at a local store named Halls.  Definitely worth that price but not 400-500!

Yeah, only paid $220 AUD for mine about a year and a half ago, replaced the first pair and got a second pair that are going strong, mostly wanted to sample the chromexcel before I invested in a pair of vibergs in the same leather. That being said they are still the most comfortable boots I've owned.

Well before reading this thread about the heel issue, I bought a pair of the wingtips.  I just really liked the cut/style of this boot.  I tried selling them (bought them a little too big) but w/ no takers decided to man up and keep them.  I put in some jell inserts, they actually fit great now and to be honest its a well made shoe.  I just hope I don't have any issues down the road.

Hey thanks.  Does anyone know where I can pick up some waxed laces that match the ones that come w/ the boot?  Its so stupid but these laces are too short to lace the boot up all the way.

^ They don't have the same size flat waxed laces.  I've looked everywhere for replacements and nobody is selling them.  You can get free replacements from Wolverine though if you send them an email..

The boots below are my Wolverine "Apprentice" boots, they are not made in the USA, definitely not hand made, and they cost me £30 second hand (slightly worn) from eBay almost two years ago. I bought them for a specific purpose of being my general "work" boot, as I can't afford to replace or repair my Whites every 6 months.

These boots have seen far more wear from me in the last 18 months than any other footwear I own, they accompany me to work almost every day, they have walked though snow, ice, rain and mud without ever one drop of water getting to my feet. The sole unit shows virtually no wear at all (far far superior to the Vibram Christy on my Abingtons), and the leather looks like new after a wipe down with a wet cloth.

They may not be classically desirable in any way, but they are tough as hell, and I suspect the sole is made out of the same kind of stuff that aeroplane black box's are made from.

just got back from capri shoes in fullerton, ca. picked up my wolverine 1000 mile boots.

great service. even cleaned them up. whenever i need to resole a pair of boots, capri shoes is where i'll go.
