IH-634S-B - 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Overdyed Indigo
-
First wear. New measurements nearly matched the ‘worn’ of my other 634’s. Comfortable from the get go.

@Cymro Awesome fit

That’s a great way of describing the fit btw. I found these to be the same for me.
-
For my first pair of 21 oz - fit is pretty spot on. I got them hemmed an inch longer than I normally would so they are a little long (obviously) - I don't notice it with boots but it stacks a little with shoes on. All in all though they feel great. Have worn the last 3 days since receiving. Coming from 12 oz Railcar jeans they aren't as stiff as I was expecting.
-
No more lined back pockets. I thought that all Iron Heart jeans had those?
-
@Asger-Ebdrup. There are 634's with lined back pockets but not the 634s 21oz and also i think the 634XHS doesn't have lined back pockets. But the 634 XHS ib, 634 19L, 634 18oz and probably some more actually have lined back pockets.. if you look at the product descriptions it will tell you of they do or not.
-
I dig them either way. Unlined pockets help to accelerate the patina on your wallet

Hey. I know to always trust the measurements. I want a pair of these jeans. Just wondering how come these overdyed come out a little larger than the normal indigo ones even though the overdying process takes out all the shrinkage. Shouldn’t they come out smaller then? I guess what I’m asking is did any body get a pair of the newly stocked indigo ones and a pair of these from this drop and did you take the same size in both. I’m rambling I know but size charts always messes with me when looking at them to long.
-
@Mni I think it's because the pattern for these is different so they basically come out almost the same after dyeing.
-
-
@ozai both are 634 regarding my question so pattern should be the same right?
-
@Mni different batch slightly different measurements. The measurements almost always are different everytime a new batch is released in all cuts. That's why the measurements always get updated prior to a release
-
@Mni I forget where it is in the thread but the base pattern is the same but the od model was changed to account for the sizing. They tried for other models but reverted, however this repattern on the 634 was kept as the altered version since it was very on point

@Giles said in IH-634S-B - 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Overdyed Indigo:
When we did the IH-634S-B, we completely redid the pattern to try and get the OD version and the indigo version as close as possible. We did that with all very early iterations of indigo and the OD equivalent. But a series of bad repatterning led us to keep the same pattern for both variants and live with the size variance.
EDIT. But we never bothered reverting to a single patten for the 634S variants as we had nailed the pattern for the OD version

@ozai I wondered why my newly ordered 634 OD 21’s were pretty much bang on for my regular IH tag size. I literally checked it multiple times thinking I had read it wrong or the measurements were from an old batch.
Some of my other OD’s have had to go up nearly 2 tag sizes. -
