@Aetas It’s one of those albums that on first listen that you like…but it grow’s on you to the point where you want to hear more of it. I have to give credit to @Tago-Mago for recommending it and I truly want to thank him for it.

There is a circle of musicians that routinely congregate that make up 80% of what I listen to on a routine basis. Steven Wilson is the key to all of it…

Sadly I was unaware of them until this forum and all of the contributors over the years. Once you unlock the first puzzle piece, the rabbit hole is very deep.

@GraemeE I didn't either until a week or two ago. Been reading up on Latin/Peruvian tunes in prep for Lima record store crawling and (unsurprisingly) finding the music addictive. These are all from the touristy Miraflores area, new, and priced accordingly. Tomorrow I'm headed to the Quilca area near old town, which I think will be a little grungier and cheaper and dustier and better for older press digging.

The story behind it is quite interesting, too. The festival was apparently a defining moment for the Colombian music scene. Unfortunately, the live recording of the gig didn't work out, so it had to be re-recorded in the studio later, with live crowd noise layered over it. Sadly, this meant the sound quality suffered.

The YT sounded fine to my ears. Excited to hear the vinyl. Like most of the great Peruvian records I found, very few original pressings (discogs median >$300usd). Glad it’s been reissued. And surprised it’s not available on streaming platforms.
