Did anyone size down in this from their typical IH type 3 sizing?

@Buckeye, I did (we know it’s about measurements not tag size, and the L measurements in this aligned with the measurements for my existing type IIIs in XL). I think it worked for me and I hope it does for you (assuming you managed to order one).

Mine is now here and everyone was right about the look, the smell and the feel of the leather, and the sleeves don’t feel as long as the measurements suggest. It will leave little bits of black fluff on whatever you wear underneath, but I expect that won’t last.

Pics will have to wait. If I get out of the office tonight before the light goes I have more time-sensitive pics to take.

I really like this one but can anyone explain why this costs approximately 1000 more than the split steer type 3?

@Ton horsehide is generally more expensive as it takes longer to tan and is not as readily available as steer being the most significant factor.

Just received mine from IH Germany. I think I got the last one in size L from there, as IHUK had run out in like two hours? Anyways, I love it. It feels very sturdy. The nap is very short and smooth in most places and gets a bit longer and fuzzier like on the IHJ-49 near the cuffs. The horsehide is way softer than on my IHJ-129. The cotton lining is also very soft and comfortable.
