I would like to purchase a watch from the year I was born (1975).

      Any recommendations?

Funny you should say that; I was going to suggest a Speedmaster Professional.  Classic watch that can be found for a reasonable price on the secondhand market and will fit in with any setting, from wearing a tux to wearing grubby jeans.

Finding a watch with a verified build date in 1975 might be complicated, as most don't include that information clearly, and good watches don't change much from year to year (unlike cars, for instance).

Hmmm…....would have to be a Rolex 1675 GMT Master, Pepsi dial of course  😎

thats what i was thinking. you may have to settle for made around the 70s rather than specifically 1975.  To get an accurate date like that usually means its really special and rare or it was bit of a flop and didnt get reproduced for the following years.

nothing fancy but fell in love with it as soon as i saw it. No makers mark that i can see and no branding of any kind [one of the reason i liked it], its hallmarked 1918 so that's all i know for now. still runs but doesn't keep good time so need a good service and hopefully they can tell me more.

Are you referring to just seamasters or seamaster professionals? The pre-bond SMP came in two sizes and in quartz and auto starting in the early 80s. They are more dive oriented and the precursor to the current models. There are also a lot of models from the 50s on with the name seamaster that referred to their level of water resistance. From what I've seen they range in size from 36-40mm but hardly ever more or less. They might also have additional badging like Cosmic or even Deville. Be very careful when buying the older seamasters as there are TONS of cobbled garbage pieces out there. Good luck!

                                          Was talking about a 60'ies Deville…

yep, la montre fonctionne très bien, apparemment pas de besoin urgent de rénovation, elle tourne très bien, l'état est irréprochable, 42mm oui, je re-mesurerai ASAP

Frenchie here claims it's a 42 mm (well he's gonna measure it)… Don't think this guy knows what he's selling... I'll be patient and find one on TZ-UK..

It might be 42mm when you include the crown, hard to say. Also check out chronocentric.com. They have a lot of cool omega info.
