As far as I know, these were the first version of the 705/714. Haraki san didn’t like how they turned out, and over dyed most of the batch. If I had to guess, what he didn’t like was how the dye on the fabric behaved when washed.
The 23oz serge is my favorite IH non denim fabric. If you’ve never experienced it, now’s the time to get some for cheap. I bought these used, and they came to me with all the weird marbling. There’s also indigo stain at the belt line from my belt. They were hemmed (not chain stitched!) to 32. Structurally, they’re in killer shape, just marbled as can be.
I want to get $100 for these, shipped to US. Not really keen on shipping internationally, but we can talk about it.
