Good Art Hollywood

Anyone have experience ordering apparel directly from GAH? I ordered a t-shirt from their collaboration with Race Service a few weeks ago and haven't gotten any communication about it. I know the jewelry shipping time takes weeks unless it says ready to ship, but I wouldn't think extended shipping times would apply to their apparel.
-
@Kasi thanks for that. I reached out and they got back to me pretty quickly to explain it would be shipped out end of week. Delay was probably related to the holidays.

Hey y’all. I just received my grail piece, the Model 10 B. It isn’t as shiny as I expected. There is some tarnishing and marks on the clasp and the links at the connection point are rather grey. My other pieces from Good Art have always been bright out of the bag, but this one not so much. What do you think?

-
the connection / soldered areas have always arrive grey for me. the finishing on the clasp doesnt look to be the usual high quality from them. You could reach out and let them know to see what they say, but itll end up looking like that anyway after some wear.
The one oddity is how much tarnishing there appears to be on the SIDE of some of the links like that one next to the rosette. Do you have a picture of the whole bracelet?
-
@pechelman here is the best I can do with my iPhone. Yeah I expected the grey soldering marks at the interior of the links, but it’s on the exterior of the links and the clasp as well. You mentioned this would happen with time. Maybe it was a display piece. Is there a safe way to clean and polish? I looked up some approaches and the tin foil /baking soda method seems effective but I wouldn’t want to remove the parts of tarnish that are intentional within the rosette etc

-
@jdwaid use a silver polishing cloth from Goddards I've used it on my friends and he was amazed how clean it came up.
-
@jdwaid +1 to those cloths
what you dont want to do is get polishing stuff down into the dark areas because that could strip the "antiquing" or whatever you want to call it.But before you do anything, at a minimum, I'd still shoot them an email with these pictures and let them know. Maybe they would offer you a free trip back for your bracelet to get a cleaning and polishing?
Also, thanks for the pictures. I had an idea that maybe this was a used/returned bracelet that was configured wrong like DanielSan's a while back. Looks to be assembled correctly.
-
@pechelman Appreciate the insights and recommendations. I thought it might have been worn a bit before I got it. Glad to hear that its at least configured correctly. I know its legit based on the serial number. I probably will just polish it myself, not sure I want to part with it at this point for some weeks or months. Cheers

Hit it gently with a polishing cloth, it will look like new in less than a minute. A cloth wont affect the liver of sulfur (dark spots) unless you really rub it aggressively.
-
@Mizmazzle I got it here from Iron Heart. The date on the certificate is June 2025, date on the clasp itself is 2023.
-
@Anesthetist good to know, thank you

-
@jdwaid this video from Good Art might help
-
@paris75009 yep I've seen this before and use the hand soap method for most of my GAH jewelry. I am more concerned about the level of tarnish on a brand new model 10, which I would reasonably expect to look pristine. It appears they fully missed the polishing part of production when preparing this piece.
-
@jdwaid did you email them?
-
@Anesthetist I did. Not sure if anything can be done about it but I let them know the QC on this one wasn’t ideal.
-
@jdwaid i agree but def worth saying. I’m glad you did.
-
Did you also try emailing the IH shop? They may be able to help escalate or bring this to their attention a little faster. The more ive been thinking about this the less i'd be happy, especially looking back at the pictures showing what looks like to be patina around/inside the pivot pin holes on the clasp.
-
@pechelman I haven't done that yet. I'll email them to give a heads up.
