Apparently, Viberg has changed their strategy for MTO Army and Service boots: no more blocked, straight heel option.
Not too sure what to think about that - does that mean I should send back the boots because this is not what I have specced, ordered and payed for? I'm sure the heel is fine - I could probably find a cobbler to change the heel if absolutely necessary, but I would have expected some kind of upfront communication over a timeframe of 12 weeks…

that would trouble me foxy, but then again i'm kind of obsessive if you hadn't noticed & like to be kept in the loop as much as possible. i don't micro manage but i'm not into surprises.
i think the boots are great as the are but i would voice my dissatisfaction with their curerent practice & probably ask for some sort of monetary token to show they care about me as a customer.
again that's just me & i'm cray as all hell

those are a unique make-up if i ever saw one.
i like them alot & i'm not ordainarily into that contoured heel, somehow it matches that make-up.

….Funny that you mentioned the heel - I did ask for a blocked 90 degrees heel - like my first MTO's because I'm also not too much into the curved, contoured or Cuban heel…
I guess tomorrow we'll know for sure - can't say that I would mind the curved heel at the prospect of waiting another freaking 12 weeks!
weird quoting myself, yawn. yeah i like the heel. it goes with the make-up of the boot to me. . . but of course i have no idea how it would look with a block heel or my favorite heel the Vibram #132 aka "honey Vibram" sole

I think these are the horsehide version of the tan ones that you have. Personally, this is the boot that I would like to see with an Iron Heart logo on the side
UltraSoundBoots in HK - nice guys - price point around 450€ (incl. VIP discount) as I pay local taxes only and pick up directly - expect 12 weeks for MTO with Viberg.
I have the Army Boot - the above picture shows the Service Boot - same last, minor details differ.
Regarding HH:
This is difficult outside Japan. You can or used to be able to order some HH Vibergs through Rakuten as some shops did get smaller batches of MTOs - price point: +1000€…
On SuFu Ed is currently organizing a group buy with Viberg using TFH HH - it seems that Viberg has accepted the orders and is currently processing the orders - no individual order confirmation yet - price point +650$... -

Dear Viberg,
I just picked up my second Viberg Army Boot MTO from Ultrasoundboots in HK.
The boots is fine, but, sadly, I had to notice that they where not to my specification (straight, blocked heel) made 12 weeks earlier.
When I asked Ultrasoundboots about it they told me that they have been advised that in according with a new model policy/strategy service and army boots will only come with curved heel.
Can you confirm this and explain why I or Ultrasoundboots could not be informed about this change within the given 12 weeks?
All in all, I noticed that the received boot differs in 3 points from the placed order: blocked heel, brass hardware, rubber sole.I hope to hear back from you soon,
….let's see if and what comes back.

thank you for your email. I will talk with ... as per your order specs.I am not sure of the exact reasons behind why the non 90 degree heel, all I know is this isn't something we have done in the past or plan to do in the future, I will have to talk to the factory to find out why.

If there is a huge issue with the boots you can return them, and we can give you your money back. But we have no interest in making a block heel service boot for you, since it's not something that we have ever offered, I think we might have made one or two pair before, but it's something my dad doesn't like to do, from a production point of view.Like I said, I will talk to ... and sort this out and either of us will get back to you shortly.
